Three years after the premiere, the continuation of the legendary cartoon "Shrek" was released. The sequel became one of the highest-grossing animated films in cinematic history. In the cartoon "Shrek 2" (2004), the actors returned to their heroes and gave the audience another fascinating story about the adventures of an orc and his friends.

Storyline

According to the plot, very little time passes after the wedding of Fiona and Shrek. The couple is still on their honeymoon. A quiet and measured life is interrupted when Fiona receives a letter from her parents.

The king and queen want to see their daughter at court. Concerned mother and father want to get to know their daughter's husband better. Fiona is glad to be invited, she already misses her parents. But Shrek is not particularly happy about the upcoming trip.

But the husband cannot refuse Fiona, so the couple goes to meet their parents. A close family friend, Donkey, was tasked with looking after the house.

Many voice actors returned to the already familiar characters that were played in the first part of the cartoon. shrek,Fiona, Donkey - these characters have long been familiar to the audience. In the second part, the creators will introduce everyone closer to Fiona's parents, the prince, his mother and the most dangerous assassin in the kingdom.

Shrek

In the cartoon "Shrek 2" actor Mike Myers returned to the voice acting of the main character - Shrek. In the sequel, Myers' character enjoys the early days of married life with Fiona. He does not think about problems, about hunters, about enemies. For him, their solitary life is ideal. But when Fiona's parents send a letter, Shrek agrees to go and visit the palace.

From the first minutes of his stay in his parents' house, Shrek realizes that he is not welcome. The king and queen treat him with thinly disguised contempt. Fiona's parents believe that Shrek ruined their daughter's life. But the orc loves his wife, and therefore tries to improve relations with Fiona's father and mother. He even agrees to go hunting with the king.

However, Shrek's attitude towards Fiona's parents changes when he learns that the king hired a hitman to get rid of his son-in-law.

Fiona

The voice actors in "Shrek 2" tried with the help of voice only to convey the whole gamut of emotions experienced by their characters. This also applies to Cameron Diaz, who played the role of Fiona in Shrek 2.

Unlike the first part of the cartoon, in the sequel, Fiona came to terms with her essence and learned to enjoy life with her husband. But she has a strained relationship with her parents. Therefore, she gladly accepts the invitation andgoes to his father's house. But the princess does not yet know how much trouble this trip will bring them.

Donkey

The first part (2001) and "Shrek 2" were especially popular among the audience. The cartoon actors managed to create characters that not only children but also adults empathized with.

Eddie Murphy in the cartoon "Shrek 2" returned to the role of Donkey - Shrek's best friend. In the sequel, the character has new problems. There was a discord in relations with the Dragon. The donkey is worried about this and therefore agrees to look after the newlyweds' house during their trip to Fiona's parents.

Puss in Boots

In the cartoon "Shrek 2" world-famous actors also took part. The role of a thug and a killer known throughout the kingdom was played by Antonio Banderas. His character is Puss in Boots. There are legends about the abilities of the Cat. He can sneak into any fortress, destroy any target.

But something goes wrong during the meeting with Shrek. And soon Puss in Boots turns out to be not an enemy, but a true ally of the orc.

Prince Charming

In the cartoon "Shrek 2" (2004), actor Rupert Everett gave his voice to Prince Charming. But his character is not noble and honest. Charming is always looking for a benefit for himself, goes head over heels towards his cherished goal, tries to get Fiona and her kingdom by deceit and blackmail.

Fairy Godmother

Usually in cartoons, fairy godmothers act as guardians, good advisers and good friends. But in Shrek 2, the fairy godmother, played by Julie Andrews, is the epitome ofself-interest and evil.

Fairy is the mother of Prince Charming. And for the sake of his well-being, a woman is ready to do anything. Even killing innocent people.

King Harold

John Cleese gave the king his voice in the cartoon "Shrek 2". His character is a bit of a cowardly, squeezed and insecure man. Harold made a pact with a fairy in the past, promising that his daughter would marry the prince.

After Shrek intervened in the course of events, the plan of the king and the fairy failed. Therefore, Harold had to hurriedly figure out how to save his daughter from the society of an orc.

Queen Lillian

Queen Lillian in the cartoon "Shrek 2" spoke in the voice of Julie Andrews. Fiona's mother is a kind and fair ruler. The only thing a woman wants is happiness for her only daughter.

Like Fiona, Lillian didn't know anything about her husband's arrangement with the fairy. But even after Harold took on his true form, she did not turn away from her husband.
