Future celebrity singer Sam Brown asked the family to appoint her brother Pete as the album's producer. And, despite the fact that the girl was never particularly close to her brother, the work went "excellent".
In 1988 she released her first album called Stop! It topped the charts in the Netherlands and Germany. A year later, the song of the same name gained extraordinary popularity in England. In the national charts, the song and album Stop! moved up to fourth place. The total number of copies sold was two million.
Being yourself isn't easy
Sam Brown's second album April Moon was released in 1990. The hits With A Little Love" and "Kissing Gate" showed how much Sam has grown as a singer. Unlike her colleagues, the singer did not love herself in music, but music in herself - she did not like maintaining the status of a star. At first, this helped her in her work, and later it created certain difficulties with producers and record companies.
The next album was called 43 Minutes. This is a rather gloomy work that the singer wrote during her mother's serious illness. The A&M Records label, under which the artist released albums at that time, was not happy with the singer's mood and insisted on writingseveral potential hits, but Sam bought the master CDs and recorded the album the way she wanted through her own label. The album was re-released in 2004, but is still hard to find.
Life goes on
In 1997, the singer released the album Box under her own label. Maria McKee participated in the recording. In 2000, Sam again pleases fans with the album ReBoot. Brown managed not only to record her own albums, but also to make a career as a backing vocalist. She managed to work with such bands as Pink Floyd, Deep Purple and many others. In 2002, at a memorial concert for George Harrison, she performed his last song Horse on the water. This performance can only be seen in the Concert for George biopic.
