Who is Captain Britain?

Captain Britain (see photo below) is a Marvel superhero whose real name is Brian Braddock. Chosen by Merlin. He is the protector of the M altivers and Britannia. Worked with MI-13 for some time.

Becoming a Hero

Captain Britain was born and raised in the English city of Malden. He has a twin sister, Betsy, and a brother, Jamie. After the death of his parents, he left the family, enrolling in the University of Thames. In parallel with his studies, the young man worked in the Department of Nuclear Technologies. When his lab was attacked by River, Brian hurried to get help on his motorcycle, but got into an accident and was mortally wounded. Waking up, Braddock saw Merlin and his daughter Roma. They offered to save his life through the choice of the Sword of Might and the Amulet of Truth. The young man chose the second, because he did not consider himself a warrior. After that, he turned into Captain Britain and was able to defeat River.

Fighting Crime

At first, Braddock combined heroism with work in the laboratory. He prevented a number of bank robberies, becoming "Britain's superhero". This attracted a villain named Hurricane. Brian did not immediately defeat him due to the inaction of the police. Captain Britain and other superheroes were hated by the law.

Some time Braddock studied in America. There he lived in a hostel with Peter Parker. But the young people did not know about each other's abilities. When Brian was flying home, he was telepathically affected and jumped out of the plane. After that, Braddock disappeared. Marilyn himself brought Captain Britain back. It turned out that Brian was missing part of his memory. Therefore, the wizard told him how to defeat the Necromon, a machine that killed all superheroes in an alternate reality. Elf Jakdoe and the Black Knight became Captain Britain's assistants. Together they saved the Other World. After this victory, Brian was killed by the White Rider, but Merlin resurrected him, bringing back all his lost memories.

New battle

By combining the Scepter with the Amulet, the wizard created a new uniform for Braddock. She helped in flight and surrounded the captain with a powerful force field. Soon, Brian went to an alternate reality on Earth-238 to defeat Jim Jaspers, who eliminated all the superheroes there.

However, Braddock was stopped by Rage, who was stronger. Marilyn teleported the captain's body to Earth-616 and resurrected him again. Meanwhile, Jaspers took over as prime minister and began to change London. Brian again failed to stop him. Fury, who arrived on Earth-616 to punish the captain, helped. Jaspers fell under his arm and was killed. It was not difficult for Captain Britain to defeat Fury, who was weakened by battle.

After theseevents Braddock met the metamorph Meggan from an alternate reality and fell in love with her. They began to fight evil together, but soon Brian wanted to end his superhero career and start a family with the girl.

Back in service

After Captain Britain left, R. C. X. asked his sister Betsy to take this post. She became a worthy replacement thanks to hard training, telepathic abilities and impenetrable armor that allows her to fly. Betsy fought against Braddock's enemies many times and nearly died at the hands of Slymaster. Only her brother's help saved her. After this incident, Captain Britain returned, but stopped working with the government due to distrust. Then he learned about the death of Betsy at the hands of the X-Men and drank heavily. After marrying Meggan, Bryan finally left the team.

Abilities

Captain Britain, whose biography was presented in this article, gradually increased his abilities. At first, he used artifacts for these purposes. They gave Brian agility (Amulet of Truth), stamina, strength, enhanced senses (uniform), the ability to fly (Star Scepter) and create force fields. After being defeated in the Skrull War, Braddock was revived by magic and could no longer use the artifacts. Now the captain's abilities depended solely on his determination and willpower.
