Short biography
One of the most famous performers of the second half of the 20th century was born on 1954-25-12 in the family of a laundress and a worker in Aberdeen. She lived far from a respectable area, but her parents did everything so that the only child could take piano lessons. The girl studied at a special music school, sang in the choir, and teachers noted her musical talent.
Lennox Annie made her first money at a fish processing factory after graduation. Then she applied to the Royal Academy of Music in London and won a grant for prestigious education. Studied classical musicimproving piano playing. Mastered the skills of playing the flute. Her student life was difficult, she had to work as a waitress, a barmaid at a car wash, and sing in restaurants. She was forced to leave the academy a few days before graduating without graduating.
For three years she worked as a saleswoman, a cleaner, continuing to study vocals on her own. She sang in youth groups, trying to find herself. In the Rippins restaurant, where she worked as a waitress, Annie met Dave Stewart, her lover and future creative partner. So, at the age of 22, the fate of the girl changed - they organized the group The Tourists, and her full-fledged musical career began.
Annie's parents died of cancer, her personal life was not easy. Lennox married three times:
- In 1984-1985. - Marriage to German Hare Krishna Radha Raman.
- In 1988-2000 - with Uri Fruchtman (producer from Israel). Annie survived the loss of her first child, Daniel, who was stillborn, and in the early 90s, daughters appeared in the marriage: Lola and Tali.
- She married gynecologist Mitch Besser in 2012.
Now Lennox lives in London, is engaged in charitable, educational activities in the fight against AIDS, being a UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador. In 2010 she was awarded the Order of Britain.

The solo album Diva, released in 1992, brought dizzying fame to Annie Lennox, whose songs soared to the top of the charts for a long time.
1999 was marked by the reunion of Juritmiks and the release of the album Peace, aimed at supporting the activities of Greenpeace. Compositions are kept at the top of various charts, and in 2003 the album Bare appeared. In addition, Annie is actively working in cinema and writing soundtracks for films.
