Lipetsk State Puppet Theater has existed for 40 years. The basis of the repertoire is performances for young spectators. Although there are performances for adults.

History

Address where the puppet theater is located: Lipetsk, st. Gagarin, house 74. It opened in July 1965. The first performance of the troupe is "Honest Word" based on the play by Sergei Mikhalkov. Over the years of its existence, the theater has been on the verge of closing many times, due to the disorder, the inability to show all the works that we would like. In those years, the repertoire included such performances as "The Divine Comedy", "Military Secret", "Shaitan - Leather Ear", "Luppy Goat", "By Pike", "Armenian Legend", "Friends of Little Kitty", " Petrik the Tiger, Counting to Five, White, Red, Black, Lebedinets City, Alyonushka and the Soldier, Mysterious Hippo, Giraffe and Rhinoceros, Pea Boy, Rimtimti the Bear and many more.

The Puppet Theater (Lipetsk) went on tour throughout the Soviet Union, as well as in some other countries. The troupe began to take an active part in various festivals, which it does successfully to this day. At the beginning of the 2000s, the theater buildingwas closed for restoration, which lasted three years. Completed overhaul in 2008.

The Puppet Theater (Lipetsk) opened the season in the renovated building with the production of "Il trovatore and his friends". In 2013, the troupe visited the festival in the French city of Avignon. In the city of Tambov, the troupe won a laureate diploma. It was a theater festival. It was called "Traditions of antiquity deep".

Since 2011, the theater itself has organized a festival for professional puppet theaters within its walls. The name was given to him as follows: “Pushkin origins. Korenevshchino. Troupes from different cities took part in it. This festival was held on the initiative of the puppeteers of the city of Lipetsk. It was declared permanent. This festival will now be held once every three years. Summing up its results, announcement and awarding of the winners takes place in the Russian village of Korenevshchino, in the Lipetsk region, on the birthday of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin.

In addition to performances and a chic appearance, the Lipetsk Puppet Theater pleases the audience with the appearance of a museum in it. Here you can see a variety of dolls that are interesting for both small and large viewers. The museum allows you to trace the history of the development of the Lipetsk theater.

Festivals

The Puppet Theater (Lipetsk) is the organizer of several projects. Namely, festivals. The first of them is called, as mentioned above, "Pushkin origins. Korenevshchino." The last time it took place was in Lipetsk in June 2014. This time it was dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov. The festival participants presented performances based on the works of this great Russian writer to the jury. Troupes from Ozyorsk, Perm and Ryazan came to show themselves. Another festival, which has also been mentioned above, is "Traditions of the ancient times". It was last held in April 2015. It was held in Tambov and was dedicated to the anniversary of the puppet theater of this city. Nine professional theater groups from different cities came to the festival.
