The puppet theater in Izhevsk opened in the first half of the 20th century. On its stage there are performances for children and adults. Actors work with various types of puppets, as well as using a live plan and masks.

History of the theater

The puppet theater in Izhevsk, the photo of which is presented in this article, received its first spectators in 1935. The first troupe did not have its own premises, and therefore the artists showed visiting performances. They mostly worked in the villages. Most of the performances were performed by the actors in the Udmurt language. The troupe soon received its own building.

The puppet theater in Izhevsk changed addresses several times. During the war, he lost his premises. Then the artists began to perform in hospitals, clubs and even in private apartments. In 1945 the theater received a new building. Today it is located at: Lomonosov street, house number 9.

In the 60s, the puppet theater (Izhevsk) began to go on tour often. First in the regions of the republic, then in Russia.

In the 70s, the troupe began to actively participate in festivals, which it continues to do with success to this day.

In the 80sover the years, the repertoire has been replenished with a large number of new performances.

In 1993, the theater was awarded the State Prize of the Republic in the field of art for a great contribution to the upbringing of the younger generation.

The year 2006 was marked by the beginning of a major overhaul. The process of holding it was kept under personal control by the President of Udmurtia. The appearance and interior of the theater have been greatly transformed. All systems and equipment have been replaced with the most modern ones. Repairs continued for several years.

Since 2008 Alexey Nikolaevich Petrov has been the director. Thanks to him, during all the transformations in the theater, the work of the troupe did not stop. The actors continued to delight the audience with performances, and also worked on new productions. The work was carried out at different venues in the country: in kindergartens, on the stages of theaters, in schools, in a music school. This went on for about three years. During that period, there were seven premieres.

Most of them are still in the repertoire of puppeteers in Izhevsk. From the very beginning of its foundation, the theater set itself the main goal - to work for the small spectators of the city and the republic. Over the years of its existence, he has released more than three hundred performances. More than three thousand dolls were made.

Today, the position of the chief director of the theater isGalina Alexandrovna Likhatskaya. Director - A. N. Petrov. The troupe has received many different awards, diplomas, medals, and prizes.

The theater has its own peculiarity: many actors in the troupe know the Udmurt language well. Thanks to this, the theater often performs productions based on the works of famous authors of the republic, who wrote their works in their native language.

You can shoot a video or photo of a performance only after receiving permission from the administration. Mobile phone must be turned off. You should dress smartly and neatly. It is better to bring a change of shoes with you. You should not leave the hall during the bows - this is a manifestation of disrespect for the artists. Large bags, packages, backpacks must be left in the cloakroom.
