The Drama Theater (Kamensk-Uralsky) has existed since 1943. His repertoire is designed not only for adults, but also for children. The theater troupe employs wonderful artists.

History

Professional theater began to function during the war years. The city of Kamensk-Uralsky accepted the troupe of Lev Elston, which was formed in 1924, for permanent residence and work. Initially, it was a theater not only for drama, but also for comedy. Its name has changed several times. At first it was the Lev Eston Troupe, then the Ural Worker, Drama Number Three. The latter was returned to the theater in 2006, and it "lives" with it today. Initially, the troupe gave traveling performances at the mines, factories and mines of the Urals. The Drama Theater (Kamensk-Uralsky) in the first years of its existence showed the audience performances based on plays by E. Zola, A. Lunacharsky, E. Voynich, A. Ostorovsky, N. Gogol, M. Gorky and A. Chekhov. During the war, the artists toured as part of a front-line brigade and performed in front of the soldiers. Many actors died during such performances under shelling and bombing. In the 50-70s, the Drama Theater (Kamensk-Uralsky) offeredperformances based on classical and contemporary plays for their audience. In the 80-90s. the leader of the troupe was Y. Kuzhelev. Under him, the repertoire consisted of foreign and Russian classics. After he left his post, the theater turned into a commercial one. The new leader tried to introduce the Western model of work, which had a negative impact on the troupe. The result was not as expected. The model did not take root. In 2005, the new administration had to restore the theater and develop a new repertoire. Artists today actively participate in various festivals of regional, All-Russian and International importance. The theater is full of ideas.

The Drama Theater (Kamensk-Uralsky) is the organizer of various projects. One of them is "Journey behind the scenes". itexcursion for children and adults. Here you can see the work of a director, props, assembler, decorator, hairdresser, lighting, make-up artist, sound engineer, artist, costume designer, and so on. Visitors are given the opportunity to go behind the scenes, see the auditorium through the eyes of the actors, feel the light of the spotlights, touch the costumes and props with their hands. Here you can see how the actors put on makeup.

One more project - "The Theater for Dummies". Within its framework, a disk was created. It has an encyclopedia on it. Collected materials about the theater, which are supported by photographs and video illustrations. The disc is intended for those who have not comprehended the world of art.
