Popular Scottish musician and film actor Billy Boyd (photos are presented on the page) was born on August 28, 1968 in Glasgow. As soon as the boy was six years old, his mother died. Billy and his older sister were raised by their grandmother. The children grew up obedient and studied well. The father, constantly busy at work, participated in the upbringing of his son and daughter as far as possible, but this was of little use. However, Billy and his sister successfully graduated from high school.

Performing talent

From early childhood, Billy had musical abilities: he learned to play the guitar and percussion instruments. At the age of sixteen, Boyd was already performing in the music studio, which was opened at the Drama Theater in Glasgow and from time to time served as a concert venue. The young actor played all the roles indiscriminately, he was interested in the very process of staging a theatrical performance or concert, consisting of various numbers. Performing on stage, Billy felt like an accomplished musician, he performed mainly Scottish ballads, accompanying himself onguitar. The concert experience helped the actor subsequently create his own group, in which he invited close friends of the musicians.

However, music did not bring income, and to earn a living, Billy Boyd got a job as a bookbinder. He liked the lesson, sometimes in a free minute he managed to read several chapters of a particular book. One day, Billy received several volumes of John Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings for decoration. Little did he know then that he would soon star in the film of the same name as the hobbit Pippin.

First roles

After receiving a special education and becoming a certified actor, he participated in theatrical performances, played roles in television series and individual film projects.

Billy Boyd is considered a good musician, he is the leader of the band Beecake. When the film "The Return of the King" from the "Lord of the Rings" series was filmed, the actor not only brilliantly played his character Pippin, but also wrote the song "The Edge of Night", which he himself sang during the course of the story.

In honor of the "Fellowship of the Ring", consisting of nine members, Billy Boyd wears a tattoo - the word "nine", written in Tengwar characters. Other members of The Brotherhood wear the same image: Sean Astin, Elijah Wood, Sean Bean, Dominic Monogan, Orlando Bloom, VigoMortensen, Ian McKellen. Only John Rhys-Davies, the ninth adept, has so far abstained from tattooing.
