This American actor, producer, director, and television personality is best known for his portrayal of Commander William Reiker on the popular television series Star Trek. Young years
Jonathan Frakes was born in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania on August 19, 1952, the son of James Frakes, a book editor and professor of English literature at Lehigh University. Jonathan spent his childhood and youth in the small town of Bethlehem. Brought up on the novels of the great English classics, the boy from school age began to show interest in acting. In middle and high school, he played leading roles in theatrical productions, but did not think about the profession of an actor. After Frakes High, Jonathan entered the University of Pennsylvania for a psychology course.

Frakes is married to actress Gina Francis and they have two children. The actors met on the set of the television series Naked Essence. And when they met again on the set of "North and South", they began to meet. The lovers got married three years later and since then they have not parted. The actor considers playing the trombone a great way to relax. This passion of Jonathan was used in the space saga, where his hero Commander "Enterprise - D" sometimes plays the trombone, remembering the fun times in the college band.
