Start
The future artist learned to dance quite by accident. His dad gave him to a dance studio just to avoid the negative effects of the street on him. The boy showed his abilities quite quickly. Noticing this, his teacher, former ballerina Vera Mosolova, brought him to the ballet school at the Bolshoi Theater. Igor was appreciated immediately, the main choreographer of the institution took him under his wing. Igor quickly formed in the dance field.

Foundation of ballet
On February 10, 1937, the choreographer founded Igor Moiseev's ballet. The main characteristics of its formation were the continuity and creative interaction of tradition and innovation. He managed to properly prioritize his team. Thanks to this, I achieved success in meeting my goals.
The main goal of Moiseev was the choreographic interpretation of the images of folklore that existed at that time. To realize their goal, the members of the ensemble traveled around the country and studied folk customs. They got acquainted with the folklore of different nations, looked for disappearing dances, rituals and songs.
The work done has borne fruit. The unique "Dances of the Peoples of the USSR" (1937-1938), "Dances of the B altic Peoples" (1939) appeared. The master put his soul into his artistic images. In the interpretation of his ballet, they came to life on stage and were preserved for many generations around the world.
In order to correctly and clearly convey everything to the viewer, Moiseev spared no effort, used the stage culture completely: acting, all types and types of dances, dramaturgy, scenography, symphonic music.
European folklore
A significant period in his activity was the study and creativeinterpretation of European folklore. Unable to travel abroad, Igor Moiseev's ballet "Dances of the Slavic Peoples" was staged exclusively at home. To do this, the head consulted with many experts. Success was not long in coming.
On tour in Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Romania, Poland, the audience was simply fascinated by the ensemble. The performances were done so correctly and the artistic meaning of the stage works was faithfully conveyed. Even today, Igor Moiseev's ballet is an invaluable example and a school for choreographers in many countries. Moiseev's creations have become a kind of choreographic tool used by different peoples. He staged the program "Peace and Friendship", in which he collected images of dance folklore from eleven countries, including European and Asian ones. European countries took an example from the dance performances of Igor Moiseev and created their own choreographic groups.
Always first
At that time, the country was not in a very favorable environment for the development of creativity. The Igor Moiseyev Ballet was the first dance group to be given permission to tour abroad. The performances of the ensemble were crowned with success, this was the first step towards international detente.
In 1955, the artists performed for the first time in London and Paris. And in 1958 they became one of the first domestic bands to show their performance in the USA. The press appreciated the successful tour in America and paved the way for the confidence of the USSR.
Like many decades,a full house accompanies Igor Moiseev's ballet. The poster of the concerts clearly shows this. The schedule of performances was scheduled for several years ahead.
Moiseev School
Moiseev dance school was unique and one of a kind. She was distinguished by professionalism of the highest degree, virtuosity and excellent improvisation. The pupils of the great master were not just actors - they were highly educated universal actors. They perfectly mastered any kind of dance, amazingly embodied all artistic images.
The title of a dancer of the Moiseev school is the best recommendation in any country in a choreographic group of different directions. The creative path and the nature of educating students are shown in the program "The Road to Dance", it highlights in detail the entire path that the ballet named after Igor Moiseev has passed. For this production, the master received the "Lenin Prize", and his ensemble was awarded the title of "Academic".
70 years of worldwide recognition
The stage activity of the group has been going on for more than 70 years, it was awarded the Order of Friendship of Peoples. One can honestly call Igor Moiseev's ballet the hallmark of our country. Tickets sold at the box office of the Moscow Philharmonic are sold out instantly.
For an invaluable contribution to the art of dance, Igor Moiseev was awarded the Oscar. And even after his death, today he lives in the heart of his ensemble, which holds the appropriatelevel and is a perfect example.
