The domestic series "Death to Spies", released in 2012, has become exciting and quite realistic for many viewers. It consists of several films: "Shockwave", "Fox Hole", "Hidden Enemy" and "Crimea".

In the first two films, the main character is a young SMERSH lieutenant Andrei Terekhov, played by Pavel Trubiner. All the actors of the series "Death to Spies" are organic in their every movement, facial expression, look throughout the film. If you do not pay attention to some cinematic blunders, then the film is dynamic and does not let go of the viewer's attention until the very end.
In the first film "Death to Spies. Shock Wave" the main character is introduced and begins to study the person of Veniamin Shubnikov, a simple school watchman. It is not in vain that they are interested in him, because he is a former nuclear physicist, who was also hunted by the German special services.
Events unfold in 1943 in liberated Belarus and partially Ukraine. The film tells about the work of the Soviet counterintelligence. There is a lot of work to be done to implementagent in the frontline zone of the enemy in order to destroy the uranium boiler, which can change world history in an instant, but for now the German command is preparing for an urgent evacuation from the frontline zone.
As always, our heroes are accompanied by love, unfortunately, not always with a happy ending.
Filming of all four episodes took place in Minsk and its environs, so it was a little easier for the actors of the series "Death to Spies" to live their roles.
A little closer to victory…
In the second film ("Death to Spies. Fox Hole"), the action takes place already in 1944, far from the front line. The German sabotage group managed to capture a portfolio with plans for the offensive of the Rokossovsky army. And this is on the eve of a big offensive on the Western Front! The actors of the series "Death to Spies" conveyed the intensity of the real battle of professionals. In the second half of the Great Patriotic War, it was in the rear that subtle, but no less significant events took place more often than on the front line.
The screenwriters wrote both the hero of Pavel Trubiner and his friend Lieutenant Mokrousov, played by Anatoly Rudenko, perfectly. Absolutely believable and make you believe in their sincerity, not only goodies. German saboteurs performed by the actors of the series "Death to Spies" Igor Sigov, Karl Achleitner, Jean-Marc Birkholz, Manfred Frau were able to inspire respect and make even friends suspect of betrayal.
Must see
This is a great series to watch with the whole family. There are no special effects here, well directedbattle scenes, hand-to-hand fights. An intriguing plot, the denouement of which is clear only in the last 20-30 minutes. And again Andrey Terekhov's love drama.
An excellent tandem of screenwriter Vladimir Chebotarev and director Alexander Daruga gave the audience a good quality military series.
And even though 90% of everything in the plot is fiction, it is important that characters appear on the screens who are not indifferent to the concepts of Motherland and Loy alty. They are excellent professionals with human feelings. And such after all there is and among our contemporaries. Just take a closer look.
