The birthplace of the artist is the village of Kovalevka, located in the Nikolaev region in Ukraine. The boy grew up without a father, as he left the family when his son was very young. The mother of the future singer held the position of shop manager at a perfumery and glass factory. From an early age, the boy began to show talent for music and attended a music school. But none of the relatives took his passion seriously. Sasha decided on his future fate when he was fifteen years old. The work of Tom Jones in an extraordinary way influenced his idea of his place in society. He really wanted to be like his idol. The future artist began his career by studying at the Nikolaev Musical College under the Ministry of Culture of the Ukrainian SSR (clarinet class). In his second year, he starts working in a restaurant as a pianist. Several times he tried to organize a jazz band, but his experiments were unsuccessful. After graduating in 1970, Alexander was drafted into the army, but even there he continued to devote himself to music: he sang Tom Jones songs, played in the Officers' House. During his service in the army (Navy), he proved himself to be a real fighter, was a squad leader, participated in training campaigns in France and Syria, was awarded certificates for good service.

After demobilization, Alexander worked for two years in the Philharmonic Society of the city of Krasnodar, from 1976 to 1977 he sang in the orchestra at the House of Officers. After a year he plays and sings in Nikolaev in the vocal and instrumental ensemble "Singing cabin boys", and since 1981 he has been not only a vocalist, but also the leader of several groups.

For the first time, Alexander Nikolayevich came to Moscow in 1983. Participated invarious competitions and festivals, but his popularity caught up in 1987 at a competition called "Intertalant-87", which was held in Prague.
