Exciting theme

The hero escapes from law enforcement officers on the way to the place of execution of the sentence, an experienced police investigator rushes after him. The duel between these heroes was the center of the story, although there were a dozen more plot branches. But the amazing fact that the creators managed to keep the audience in suspense for 4 seasons (3 years) served as proof that this burning topic arouses undeniable spectator interest. Therefore, it is not surprising that the theme of an innocent man in the street, trying to prove his innocence by all means, the hunt for him, has become archetypal for crime dramas and detective stories with thriller elements.

Dramatic Thriller

In "The Fugitive" (film 1993), Hollywood actors sought to get into by all means, since he appeared ina time of special excitement and fashion for a kind of film adaptation of serials, as a result, it was bound to become popular. Indeed, its success exceeded all expectations. Director Andrew Davis, who has exchanged his fifties, previously filmed action films with Chuck Norris and Steven Seagal in the super-action style, unexpectedly for many, qualitatively reworked the serial plot for the big screen. The director focused on the rivalry, turning into a duel between the two central characters. The film received a high IMDb rating: 7.80, and grossed over $180 million at the box office, entering the top 20 best films of the 90s. In terms of the use of special effects and exciting action, the use of cinematic means and virtuoso editing, the picture at that time had no equal. Therefore, she was honored to be nominated for an Oscar in seven categories. All components of the film "The Fugitive" were worthy of the award: actors, directing, scenario plan, special effects, and so on. However, only Tommy Lee Jones, who played the role of Lieutenant Gerard, deservedly received the Academy Award. This devoted "hound dog" of an imperfect state system in the actor's reading turned out to be a much more complex individual. His rival, the falsely accused Richard Kimble, was played by Harrison Ford. By the way, Ford was approved by the producers after Alec Baldwin refused to participate in the tape. And Jones during the casting had to compete with Jon Voight and Gene Hackman. The vicissitudes of the casting were tense, as the film "The Fugitive" was regarded by the actors as a significant milestone in their filmography.

Original Dramatic Conflict

The comedy "The Runaways" (film 1986) actors - leading actors Pierre Richard and Gerard Depardieu pulled to the highest level. The picture has an IMDb rating: 7.10 and occupies the ninth position in the chart of popular French comedies of the 80s. According to the plot, a successful lawyer (Pierre Richard) becomes the unwitting accomplice of a real bank robber (Gerard Depardieu). Due to a misunderstanding, they are forced to hide from the guardians of law and order. It is not a special revelation that Depardieu and Richard perfectly feel the genre, therefore they are able to play in this kind of pictures with a burlesque plot indefinitely. "The Runaways" (film 1986), the actors who played the roles of the central characters, were positioned as the final part of the comedy trilogy by Francis Robert. The first two are "Papas" and "The Unlucky". After this film, Francis Weber and Gerard Depardieu ceased cooperation, it resumed only after 15 years in the comedy "Chameleon".

Two years later, Weber tried to bring the plot to American soil by casting the acting duo Martin Short and Nick Nolte in the lead roles. The Hollywood remake of 3 Runaways couldn't beat the charm of the original.

Drama with a dash of politics

In 2015, the American film "The Fugitive" is released (first plan actors: N. Cage, S. Paulson, K. Nielsen). The picture receives an unimpressive IMDb rating: 4.60, according to film critics, being a trivial low-budget project that tells about tormentan American politician torn between helping his constituents and lobbying corporations. Director and screenwriter Austin Stark tells a sad and realistic story, the climax of the tape is far from the usual Hollywood happy ending. In the movie "The Fugitive" the actors involved are well-known. The image of the protagonist was revealed by the famous Nicolas Cage, whose game is realistic, convincing, but somewhat muffled, so it looks banal. One of the supporting roles in the film was played by Judd Lormand, together with Cage they previously worked on the production of three films "Anger", "USS Indianapolis" and "The Leftovers".
