The story "How the gramophone saved a rooster from death" was written by a very talented Russian writer Evgeny Ivanovich Nosov. He was born in 1925, and his biography did not differ much from the fate of his peers. After graduating from 8 classes, in 1943 Evgeny Nosov went to the front, where he fought in the army of K. K. Rokossovsky. He was an artilleryman, gunner, reached Koenigsberg, where he was seriously wounded. I met victory in a hospital bed.
The beginning of creativity
The first printed works appeared in 1947 (poems, essays, reviews), and in 1957 his first story for children, "Rainbow", was published. A wonderful, very sweet sketch about the glorious ten-year-old Yevseyka, such a "Nekrasovsky" peasant with a horse, about "Fetov" places (the action takes place in the poet's family estate) and how the boy wanted to catch up with the beautiful rainbow. The story is very good. Already in 1958, Yevgeny Ivanovich published the first collection for children, “On the Fishing Path,” in which the short story “Like a Gramophonesaved a rooster from death. The writer Nosov has a wonderful language, you read his prose with pleasure. This happens, perhaps, because he writes about things that are familiar to him - rural life and war.
Popular Soviet magazines
Village prose is generally a wonderful thing. At different times rural life was described by I. Turgenev, N. Leskov, I. Bunin. F. Abramov, V. Astafiev, V. Belov, V. Rasputin and other classics - "villagers". Yevgeny Ivanovich Nosov fit perfectly into this company of talented writers. His works are very well known to the Soviet reader, because many of them appeared in the Roman newspaper. Almost all urban residents subscribed to it, as well as to Novy Mir, where E. Nosov also published. These magazines, plus "Foreign Literature" and "Youth" were read, discussed, and eagerly awaited for their release.
Deserved award
Some of the writer's works were filmed, including the pinnacle of his work - the story "Usvyatsky helmet-bearers" (the film was called "Spring"). Evgeny Nosov is the winner of the Solzhenitsyn Prize, which is given to Russian writers living in the country and who have made a significant contribution to the preservation of Russian literature.
The story "How the gramophone saved a rooster from death" - a sketch from village life. The author's talent lies in the fact that each word of the work adds the necessary touch to the description of two days in the life of a peasant family. The reader gets the complete impression that he saw all this with his own eyes.history. In essence, the story “How a gramophone saved a rooster from death” is a story about human kindness and empathy. It is very good that it is included in school textbooks. Such works make children empathetic.
What is the story about?
The story tells about how at the beginning of spring frosts suddenly hit, and such that they are rare even in winter. School has been cancelled. The protagonist Vitka had a week of unexpected holidays. And everything would be fine, but his favorite, the beauty and pride of the whole village, the rooster got frostbite on his head. Grandmother brought him into a warm hut, "silk beard" and "oil head" were absolutely white. The rooster froze and died. The father ordered to cut off his head and cook soup. Vitka's back went cold from these words and her eyes filled with tears. He ran into another room and listened with fear to his grandmother's steps, expecting that right now she would go outside with a rooster, and then she would cook dinner. In the story “How a gramophone saved a rooster from death,” Nosov describes life very well. The boy imagines how the feathers of a handsome rooster will hang in a bag in the attic. The figure of a guest wrapped up in a downy shawl over winter clothes, Kolka's friend, stands before his eyes. You can easily imagine a grandmother in felt boots, how she strokes the hero on the head, tells him that the boy has a good heart - after all, Vitka asked not to kill the rooster. The hero's memories of summer, the habits of a proud bird, and its unusual color are also very colorful.
Happy ending
The boy was very sad to watchhow the cock did not eat or drink anything, and how its frostbitten head swelled. Only the arrival of Kolka distracted him. The children played all possible games and decided to start a gramophone and listen to a new disc with Krylov's fables. When TVs did not yet appear, a lot of records were released for children with songs and various works that were performed by the most famous and talented actors. So on this disc with a fable about mutual compliments of a rooster and a cuckoo, the artist seemed to crow so much that Vitka's rooster, who could not stand any competition at all, came to life and went to pacify the impudent gramophone. To the delight of the household and guests, after defeating the apparatus, the rooster ate and drank.
In 1981, S. Nikonenko, based on the lyrical works of E. Nosov, directed the film "Gypsy Happiness", which included the story "How the gramophone saved the rooster" as a separate short story.
The writer died in 2002. In his homeland in the city of Kursk, a wonderful monument was erected to him.
