For many years, the Youth Theater on the Fontanka has been very popular with residents and guests of St. Petersburg. He attracts the audience with some extraordinary energy, combining exquisite imagery, dynamics, incredible expressiveness, simplicity and at the same time sharpness of the word. Creative life is constantly in full swing in the theater, skits are held here, all new performances are rehearsed and presented to the audience, each of which is truly a masterpiece.

Creation of the Youth Theater on Fontanka

The history of its origin is connected with the Izmailovsky Garden, where a small wooden stage was once equipped. It was on her stage that acting troupes and orchestras demonstrated their talent to the audience. Already at that time, eminent directors, actors and artistic directors worked in the Izmailovsky Garden, attracting the public with bold theatrical experiments and unusual productions.

First leader - V. Malyshchitsky

In 1979 VladimirAfanasyevich holds the post of chief director. It is believed that it was from this time that the Youth Theater on the Fontanka began its history. A year later, the premiere of a performance based on Goller's play called "One Hundred Bestuzhev Brothers" is successfully held. We can say that it was a kind of studio for young actors and directors, whose main task was to find a new word in theatrical art. At that time, Vasily Frolov, Nina Usatova, Alexander Mironchik, Oleg Popkov, Vladimir Khalif worked here.

The poster of the Youth Theater on the Fontanka was presented by such works as "Sotnikov", "And the day lasts longer than a century", "Vacation due to injury". The first, rather bright, but short period of the institution's life ended with the departure of its main creator, V. Malyshchitsky.

The life of the theater under the direction of E. Padve

In 1983, a new mentor took over as director. The first play that appeared on the stage under the direction of E. Padve was Vampilov's "Duck Hunt". The performances staged by him: "Five Corners" by S. Kokovkin, "Evening" by A. Dudarev, "The Gambler" by F. Dostoevsky - were awarded awards at various festivals and competitions. The productions of the Youth Theater troupe are known not only in our country, but also abroad. However, experiencing a creative and spiritual crisis, Yefim Mikhailovich in 1989 refuses the post of leader.

Theatre today

Since 1989, the head of the institution is Semyon Spivak. Thanks tointroduced by him to the lyrics, the Youth Theater on the Fontanka found a new breath. The productions of this "magic" director can be considered public in the full sense of the word. In his performances "Blow", "Dear Elena Sergeevna" and "Tango" to this day the best actors play. Valery Kukhareshin, Natalia Dmitrieva, Olga Lysenkova, Elena Solovieva, Tatyana Grigorieva - these are the names of those honored artists, for whom the audience comes to the Youth Theater on the Fontanka again and again. The repertoire for many years has been made up of such masterpiece performances as "Sunset", "Screams from Odessa", and relatively new productions ("Moon Wolves", "Three Sisters", "Five Evenings") are held every time with a full house.
