Bender the Bender Rodriguez is one of the characters in the fantastic animated series Futurama, a member of the Planet Express team, and the best friend of one of the heroes, Fry.
Appearance

Biography
There are several stories of the appearance of a robot on the planet. According to one of them, Bender was assembled at the Mexican factory in 2998. Even before he had time to get off the container, he drank his very first bottle. After receiving the profession of a bender, the robot began an independent life. One episode shows the reverse process of Bender growing up: first he becomes a teenager, then a child, an infant anddrawing, which contradicts the first version.
Robot Bender worked in a suicide phone booth factory. Deciding to test his creations, he goes to one of the devices and meets his future best friend Phillip Fry there. They have to run away from Turanga Leela chasing them. The robot receives an electric shock, with the help of which it bypasses the program embedded in it. Together with Fry and Leela, he joins the Planet Express delivery service. These events give rise to the Futurama series. Robot Bender subsequently becomes the team's personal chef.
Personality
- Bender is a pathological liar and fabricator who rarely shows any feelings. His favorite thing is to steal, including from friends, even in a disassembled state, his limbs are trying to do it.
- Bender is an alcoholic. He drinks much more than he needs to recharge. He himself believes that he can quit at any moment. When Bender loses the ability to drink, he stops working normally and falls into a deep depression. The robot also smokes cigars because he says they make him look cool.
- Bender is so narcissistic that he thinks he's perfect. In one episode, he even falls in love with an alternate version of his personality.
- He likes to watch Elzar's show, one day he wins a culinary duel and gets the title of "Iron Chef". He loves to cook, but due to the fact that robots are not able to taste, he once nearly poisoned his team members.
- Bender's patience can only be envied: lost in time, his head had to wait about a thousand years for the team to find it.
- The main character carefully tries to hide his emotional side. And although very often he is rude and impudent, and also cherishes the dream of destroying all of humanity, in fact he loves his friends and is able to experience feelings of regret and guilt. Secretly dreams of becoming a folk singer.
- Very afraid of openers and can openers, as his father died because of them.
Relationships with other characters
In love, Bender is fickle and illegible. It's not his style to be faithful to his partners. For him, any novel is a way to have a good time. He doesn't care who he meets: with a robotic beauty, with a star's head, or with a whole spaceship. However, in some episodes we can see that the robot Bender knows how to love sincerely, while his jealousy borders on paranoia.
The character's normal state is to treat all people with contempt. Repeatedly he calls them "pieces of meat", but from season to season the attitude of the robot towards the crew members changes.
- Fry is Bender's neighbor and best friend whom he loves. The only one the robot doesn't want to destroy. Despite this, sometimes Bender treats Fry rudely, stealing his blood and breaking windows.
- Lila is Bender's good friend. Saved him more than once, as well as other members of the "Interplanetary Express", from alterations.
- Amy is a frequent victim of the hero's heists. In one of Amy's episodesbecomes his lover, and together they fight to legalize marriage between robots and humans.
