The comical sloth has a family, and quite a large one. But no one in the family loves him and no onecherishes them. To get rid of the "mistake of nature" that Sid's relatives consider to be, they run south without him at night while the sloth sleeps on a tree.

Subsequently, fate gives Sid loyal friends who become almost relatives of the sloth. But they are also not averse to getting rid of the annoying fidget at least for a short time.

The sloth from the "Ice Age" in the first part of the franchise meets the mammoth Manny and imposes himself on him as a travel companion. On the way south, the heroes witness the death of a young woman who hands them her baby before her death.

Miraculously, Sid persuades Manny to veer off course and deliver the baby to the human "pack". After some time, the tiger Diego joins them: initially, he was supposed to lead the mammoth and sloth into a trap where they would be attacked by other predators, but at the last moment Diego comes to the defense of new friends.

Later, Sid and his company will have to go through many trials. They will flee the flood, meet the mammoth Ellie, funny opossums and Shira the tigress. Sid will try himself as the "father" of three dinosaurs and even get engaged to the sloth Brooke in the fifth part of the film.

Sid's relationship with other characters

The sloth from the "Ice Age" is an ambiguous personality. With his strange behavior, he sets many cartoon characters against him.

Manny, of course, is protective of Sid and somewhere deep down he sincerely loves his friend. But sometimes, after another trick of a sloth, a mammoth is ready to kill him himself.

The same can be said for Diego, who treats the molesting Sidney like a child.

Sassy opossums prefer to annoy the sloth with barbs, because they know that he will not be able to respond wittyly. But the mammoths Ellie and Peach, Manny's wife and daughter, do not have a soul in Side: they never allow themselves rude statements or threats against him.

All other heroes of the Ice Age universe can't stand the lisping sloth.
