The actors act out the scene of the death of the dog, Gerasim sobs, the dog squeals plaintively, saying goodbye, licks his nose. The director yells: “Where is the humor? Enough to breed dampness here! Gerasim merrily runs to the boat, laughing. The dog also happily jumps out of the boat. The director demands erotica. Everyone laughs, while now and then hugging and kissing, wagging the back of the body. The director yells: “Where is the intrigue? This is murder, not vaudeville!” And the actor portraying Garasim answers ominously: “You will have murder, and vaudeville, and erotica!” He rolls up his sleeves and stomps to the director with a face distorted with hatred. Hands at the ready - to strangle the tyrant … He breaks off and shouts "Help!" runs away from the hall.
