He is the greatest creator and inimitable master of the Renaissance, which elevated man to a leading position, making him the center of the universe.

A vivid example illustrating the idea and course of that era is the five-meter statue of David, which has become a symbol of the entire Florentine Republic and is an ideal in the art of the Renaissance and human genius.

For the first time, a masterpiece of architecture was presented in September 1504 in Florence, on the famous Piazza della Signoria. Today, the great statue is on display at the Florence Academy of Fine Arts.

The statue of David by Michelangelo personifies a beautiful naked young man, concentrated before a fight with a huge warrior-giant - Goliath. This sculpture, or rather, its idea, is not the only one, since Buonarroti's predecessors - Donatello, Verrocchio, already depicted David. The difference lies in the fact that the sculptors reflected the hero at the moment of celebrating his victory over the giant, and not before an exciting duel. Donatello's statue of David depicts somespontaneity in the image of a young boy and demonstrates a well-deserved calm after a heroic victory. This is evidenced by the severed head of Goliath and the laurel wreath at the foot of the little hero.

Michelangelo created his creation in the form of a beautifully athletic young man, full of confidence in his strength and victory. This mood of the work shows the noble menacingness and firmness of the human spirit, reflects faith and hope for the best. The statue of David, like many other masterpieces of the great Michelangelo, bears the features of a certain individual, inherent only to this genius, sculptural manner: a tense and expressive expression on the hero's face. A muscular, handsome, naked young man, fixing his gaze somewhere far away, looks at his opponent with some anxiety, as if estimating him, his strength and the future battle. In his left hand, David imperceptibly squeezes a stone and holds a sling thrown over his right shoulder.

In his creation, Michelangelo reflected heroized titanism. The formidable expressiveness of the gaze of the beautiful young hero, with which he meets Goliath, is considered by contemporaries to be the main asset and an integral feature of Buonarroti's creations. Avoiding complex dynamic movements, the author of the sculpture created a type of hero who is full of power, courage, courage and full readiness for battle.

Michelangelo amazingly combined and compared the physical beauty of the human body with his fortitude and power.

Masculinity and concentration inThe face of David harbors incredible nobility and strength, and physical beauty is reflected in the powerful torso, ideally designed arms and legs of the hero.

The statue of David was created in 1501, when the author needed to create a biblical hero from a huge block of marble, spoiled by master Simone. Michelangelo's amazing ability to extract maximum expressiveness from stone has borne fruit. After drawing hundreds of sketches for the future sculpture, making a clay model of the statue, overcoming severe weather conditions and high competition, the ingenious sculptor has created a truly incredible masterpiece. Michelangelo's creation was completed in 1504.

The work was originally set in stone, the main task is to be able to extract it.
