Unfortunately, almost everything in his life happened at a rapid pace. This includes fame, which has subsided after fifteen years.

Biography

Yuri was born in the Khabarovsk Territory in Magadan on August 18, 1948. Almost all of his relatives connected their lives with cinema and television, so Yuri decided to continue their career. His mother used to workat the Yermolovsky Theater, but then she ended up in a camp. Yuri's father Alexander played in performances at the Moscow Theater, but his fate also did not work out. He was forced to spend about 20 years in various camps, and about 8 years in his native city in the mines. He was sent to the camps on the report of one of Alexander's colleagues in the theater.

The role of the father in the life of an actor

Father Yuri was slandered for allegedly telling a banned anti-Soviet joke. After the final release, the Demich family decided to stay in Kuibyshev. And their son was born already in Magadan, where Yuri's parents met. Alexander Demich played on stage with a very famous actor Georgy Zhzhenov. Colleagues remembered only good things about Yuri's father. They said that Alexander was very athletic and strong, despite his age, and at that time he was about sixty years old. They also said that once there was a case when Alexander, in a fight with hooligans, instantly laid two robbers on the ground at once. The third did not wait for his fate and simply ran away.

School years

The school where Demich studied was "with a bias". Graduates of the eleventh grade were given the opportunity to become a specialist in programming or a simple car repairman. Yuri chose the profession of a programmer. However, closer to the end of school, Demich realized that he did not like this speci alty. He immediately talked about this with his father and told him about his intention to devote his life to theater and cinema. Yuri said that he certainly wants to go to college and not for the first, but immediately for the secondcourse.

This was the first and only time that Yuri decided to use the authority of Alexander, his father. The fact is that Alexander Demich at that time worked at the school where Yuri wanted to go, and he could easily agree on enrolling his son there. The young actor knew from childhood what theater is, and loved being with his father at work. Alexander was not against the choice of his son, but on the contrary, he even supported him. He was also able to identify him at the school immediately for the second year.

GITIS

Young Yuri entered the studio, which was located at the theater, named after Maxim Gorky. Demich graduated from it in 1966. After that, he immediately entered GITIS, where he received a good education for his future career. At first, studying was very difficult for Yuri. Many of his comrades knew that Yuri entered the school "by pull", so they often mocked him and joked. Yuri didn’t like it very much, so every day he stubbornly proved to everyone, including himself, that he could become an artist and his place on stage. Maybe it was this hellish work, pain and resentment that helped Yuri develop a true love for his profession.
