Father, Alexander Galkin, is a colonel general. Mom is a candidate of physical and mathematical sciences. The older brother was also a military man, but changed his occupation and became a successful businessman. It was in such a serious family that Galkin was born and raised. Born in the Moscow region on June 18, 1976. Soon the family moved to Germany, where the Galkins lived for several years, after which they moved to Odessa, where Maxim studied at elementary school.

Military families are doomed to constant resettlement, so they moved from Odessa to Buryatia, the city of Ulan-Ude, located about 100 km from Lake Baikal, where Maxim often visited. From Ulan-Ude, the Galkins returned to Moscow again.

As a child, the future showman had a lot of hobbies. At first he wanted to become a zoologist, he studied the characteristics of various animals, their habitats, but after he saw a dove in a section in a biology lesson, he abruptly changed his mind about doing zoology. Then Maxim began to try his hand at literary art, which later determined his admission to the linguistic faculty of Moscow State University.

Galkin's first serious performance in the parody genre took place in his student years on the stage of the Moscow State University Theater.

The beginning of the creative path

Maxim Galkin's professional work began with a performance in the Debuts program, where the young parodist brilliantly imitated the voices of famous politicians: Vladimir Putin, V. Zhirinovsky and Boris Yeltsin.

After another successful performance, Galkin's career growth rapidly went up, he was offered an acting position at the Variety Theater. And in 1999, his first one and a half year joint tour began with Mikhail Zadornov, who called Maxim his successor.
