Altai State Youth Theatre. V. S. Zolotukhina was born in the last century. The basis of his repertoire is productions based on fairy tales for kids and performances based on the works of the school curriculum.

About Youth Theater

The Youth Theater of Altai (Barnaul) was born from a youth studio founded in 1918. Komsomol members acted as actors. The studio did not have its own building, so the performanceswere demonstrated in the palaces of culture and even in open-air parks. The studio received the status of a professional theater and its own building only in the 1950s. Initially, it was called the Youth Theater. And only in 2000 it became known as the Youth Theater of Altai. And since 2013, it has been named after the actor Valery Zolotukhin.

The theater's repertoire includes works for children and youth. In 2014, the troupe was headed by Irina Lyskovets.

History of the theater

Altai Youth Theater opened its doors in 1958. It was founded by L. Trukhin and G. Tomilin. The troupe was assembled from artists from different parts of the Union.

At first, the theater did not have its own premises, and it showed its performances in the melange plant club.

In 1964, the Youth Theater gave way to the stage of the Musical Comedy, and he moved to the building of the Palace of Pioneers. This room was completely unsuitable for showing performances, but there was no choice. The theater worked in this building until 2011.

In the 70s. the post of chief director was occupied by Zakhar China. Under him, the repertoire policy changed. Now the theater mainly staged heroic-romantic works. These were plays about friendship, dreams, exploits.

In the 80s, M. Bychkov became the chief director of the theater. He enriched the repertoire with new interesting productions based on classical plays and on the works of playwrights of that time.

Many performances of the 80-90s had a very happy stage fate. They gained popularity, remained in the repertoire for a long time and wererecognized by viewers.

Very big changes in the life of the theater took place at the beginning of the 21st century. Here the repertoire was updated again, the directors had new creative ideas, the actors began to actively grow professionally. The modern era dictates its own rules and requires theaters to expand their repertoire by showing performances for audiences of all ages. With the beginning of the new century, the palette of bright performances for children and youth was replenished with works for an adult audience. At the same time, the troupe was replenished with new young cadres who are ready for any task. Experiments often take place on the stage of the theater, directors find modern forms of work in order to attract the attention and interest of critics and the public. All this helped the theater to start a new life.

The team turned from the Youth Theater into the Youth Theater in 2000. 3 years after this event, another, no less significant, happened. The famous actor Valery Zolotukhin was invited to the post of artistic director. Under his supervision, a target course of future actors was recruited to the city's academy of culture. Students, still studying only in the 1st year, took an active part in the productions of the theater. They played episodic and main roles. And after graduation, the entire issue was hired by the troupe of the Youth Theater.

In the last 10 years, the team has been actively glorifying the Altai Territory, the city of Barnaul at competitions and festivals in other cities of Russia and abroad.

In 2011, what both the artists and the audience had been waiting for so long finally happened. Youth theatergot his own building. In June, the grand opening of the new "house" of the troupe took place. Previously, the premises belonged to the DC. By 2011, it was restored, rebuilt for the needs of the theater and donated to the former Youth Theatre.

The building now meets all the requirements of the team and is equipped with the latest technology. Its opening coincided with the anniversary of the artistic director - Valery Zolotukhin. In honor of this event, the first performance that was shown on the new (own) stage was Bumbarash. It was the role of this character in the film that once brought fame to Valery Zolotukhin.

Another very necessary facility was built next to the theater building - a hostel for its artists and other employees. Now those who came to work in the former Youth Theater from other cities will not have problems with housing.

Valery Zolotukhin was the artistic director of the theater until his death in March 2013. 2 months after this tragic event, the Barnaul temple of art was named after him.

In 2014, Irina Lyskovets became the theater director. Thanks to her, new specialists appeared in the troupe - a choreographer, directors and artists. The cast has also been updated, young cadres have appeared. With the advent of Irina Vladimirovna, a new stage began in the life of the theater.

Today, the former Youth Theater already has three stages - the Bolshoi (Main), Chamber and a very small one, called the "Fifth Corner". The main hall is designed for 465 spectators. Chamber accommodates 156 seats. And the "Fifth Corner" can take no more than 50viewers.

New site

Altai Youth Theater has recently opened its new stage. It was called "The Fifth Corner". This hall is intended for showing avant-garde films, demonstrating various culturalprojects, for experimental performances and the search by actors and directors for new forms of conversation with the public.

For example, the premiere of a performance called "Oxygen" took place here. The theater actress S. Sataeva acted as the director of this production. Actor A. Burdyko also created his own performance. He made his production based on the playwright A. Arbuzov. The performance is called "War, Trouble, Dream and Youth…".

V. Zolotukhin Festival

Altai Youth Theater in 2013, with the support of the governor, established the festival named after V. Zolotukhin. Theaters, both state and private, both large and small, both Russian and other nations, take part in it. Performances participants can show any form.

The festival takes place in autumn, once every two years. Applications for participation are accepted six months before its opening. To take part in the festival, it is necessary to send a video recording of the performance that is planned to be presented to the expert council for consideration.

In addition to competitive screenings of productions by participating groups, the program includes a forum for professional troupes working for a youth audience.

There are several ways to buy tickets for theater performances. The most convenient of them is through the official website online. The non-virtual space for ticket sales is the box office of the theatre. Here you can make a purchase or bookspectator seats. The box office is located in the theater building. You can get there by public transport. The closest stop is October Square.

The theater box office is open on weekdays from 10:00 to 19:00, and on weekends - until 18:00. No lunch break.

Refund of tickets is carried out only in cases where the performance is canceled, postponed or replaced.
