Biography

Aleksey Alekseevich Lebedev was born in Suzdal in August 1912. His father was a lawyer, his mother was a teacher. Due to the fact that the father had official appointments, the family moved to Siauliai, then to Kostroma, and in 1927 to Ivano-Voznesensk. Alexey Lebedev worked for some time as an assistant plumber. After that, he went to the North, where he worked as a cabin boy, and then as a sailor on the ships of Sevrybtrest. Throughfor several years the poet came to Ivanovo, where he entered the industrial technical school at the construction department.

In 1933, Alexei Lebedev joined the army, where he was sent to the B altic Fleet. He served in Kronstadt, was admitted to the school of radio operators, then he was sent to Oranienbaum in the radio squad. In 1935, he was left on extra urgent. In 1936 he entered the naval school in Leningrad. During the war (Finnish-Soviet), Alexey Lebedev, as a cadet, voluntarily took part in battles with the Finns on the destroyer "Lenin"; he was a trainee navigator. Aleksey Lebedev started creating poems at school. His first creations were published in the newspaper of the fleet "Red B altic Fleet". In 1939, the writer's first book, Kronstadt, was published. This year he continued to write poetry. Alexei Lebedev was accepted as a member of the Union of Writers of the Soviet Union. In the 40th year, the second book of the writer was published - “My Lyrics”.

After Lebedev graduated from college, he became a scuba navigator and was accepted into the fourteenth division of the training submarine brigade of the B altic Fleet. Served on the submarine L-2.

Memory of the poet

Lebedev died with a submarine on 1941-15-11. The survivors testified that at the last moment, when someone called for help behind the stern, the poet threw his vest to the drowning man to save him. Only 3 of their team survived.

He was erected a monumentin Suzdal, in Ivanovo, a street is named after him, and a granite bust is installed.

Death of a poet

According to the testimonies of those who started their literary career with Alexei Lebedev, he evoked good feelings, a feeling of falling in love. Everything about him was bright and pleasing: gift and friendliness, his ease of communication. Very responsibly and consciously, the poet prepared for the naval service and purposefully went to his tasks, like a torpedo. He studied well, knew English perfectly. He was also a good boxer. His main theme in his works was the meaning of his life. Before the death campaign, the poet seemed to feel his death, created a poem that he dedicated to his wife - “Farewell.”

He never lived to be thirty years old, on a cold night in November 41, the sea became his grave. The submarine, on which the poet worked as a navigator, was blown up by mines. He died in the prime of his literary life, but even the works that he wrote during his lifetime leave him the undisputed leader of the poetry of the navy.
