Years of preparation for glory

Radu Poklitaru was born on March 22, 1972 in the city of Chisinau. His parents - Lyudmila Nedremskaya and Vitaliy Poklitaru - at that time served for the benefit of the Moldavian Academic Theater and predetermined the future of their youngest son.

Little Radu followed in the "ballet footsteps": already at the age of four, the child was sent to a dance studio in Chisinau. Unlike his older brother, who is completelyrefused ballet, Rad liked the prospect of dancing.

Working hard on himself, from the second time in 1983 he was able to enter the Academic Choreographic School in Moscow. After that he studied in 1984 at the Odessa Ballet School, and a year later - at the Chisinau School of Music.

Study was not always easy for him - failures and injuries were his companions. Strenuous classes and training also led to he alth problems.

The training of the future choreographer did not end there - since 1986, Radu studied at the Perm State Choreographic School, and at the age of 14 he began to take an active part in the life of the Bolshoi Theater. Until 1999, he was able to achieve success and was a promising soloist and choreographer of the theater, where he most often played negative characters.

After studying at the Belarusian Academy of Music (1994 - 1999), he received not only diplomas in the speci alties "choreographer", "teacher of choreography" and "art critic", but also gained enough experience to present his productions to the world.

First performances

Working as an artist in the theater, Radu Poklitaru has been presenting wonderful performances to the public since 1991. Then, for the first time, the audience was able to appreciate the talent of the choreographer thanks to the play "Kiss of the Fairy".

In 1996, a miniature performance was presented under the direction of Radu "Intersection Point". In 1999, his production of The World Does Not End at the Doors of the House (music by G. Mahler and J. Depres) received many positive reviews from critics.

Last permanent homechoreographer at that time - the National Opera of Moldova, where he was the chief choreographer. However, he did not work there for long and already in 2001 left the post due to changes in the country's policy. But despite the troubles, Radu continued his work as a "free artist" and began to stage various productions in Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and Latvia, and later in other European countries.

Radu's first works were connected with "classical" ballet. Thanks to serious preparation and many years of study, it was quite difficult to create something that went beyond the boundaries of traditional productions. However, after the success at the competition in Italy, the choreographer realized that he was capable of modern and lively projects.

Thanks to many years of experience and perseverance, his productions become "breakthroughs" in the field of dance. Many studios invite him, and artists dream of working under his leadership. In 2002, in Odessa, he staged "Carmen", "Pictures at an Exhibition", "The Rite of Spring".

Other of his sensational and outrageous performances also appealed to the audience: "In pivo veritas" (2003), "Bolero" and "W altz" (2003), "Othello's Birthday" (2004).

Radu's collaboration with director Declan Donnellan was also fruitful. Their joint works "Romeo and Juliet" and "Ward No. 6" gathered many enthusiastic spectators in Moscow who appreciated the authors' innovation. Since then, the choreographer Radu Poklitaru has been a welcome guest in the theaters of Europe.

Kyiv Modern Ballet

In 2006, in Ukraine, Radugot the opportunity to create his own theater. Then philanthropist Vladimir Filippov helped with financing. After long castings and tests, 16 people were selected - the future stars of the author's theater. Despite the fact that Radu Poklitaru was educated for many years in the best educational institutions, the presence of a diploma was not mandatory for his subordinates. At the end, it turned out that none of the members of the troupe had a "crust".

Until 2008, the theater toured with this production throughout Ukraine, and after the updated "Carmen. TV" "Kyiv Modern Ballet" began to present all over the world. At the end of the year in Ukraine, Radu already received the Kyiv Pectoral award. The performance was liked by the audience and critics in many countries, but the choreographer continued to work hard on the repertoire and productions.

In 2014, Radu Poklitaru worked as a choreographer for performances at the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games in Sochi. Then his work was highly appreciated by viewers from all over the world.
