Early years
Konstantinopolsky Grigory Mikhailovich was born on January 29, 1964 in the city of Moscow. The parents of the future artist were engaged in teaching activities. From an early age, the boy began to show creative inclinations. Therefore, at the end of school, the parents decided to send the guy to study at the Yaroslavl Theater Institute. Here the young man learned stage skills in the workshop of S. V. Rozov.
Prestigious educational institution Gregory of Constantinople successfully graduated in 1985. Then our hero decided to continue his studies, enrolling in acting courses for directors and screenwriters, which acted under the organization of the USSR State Cinematography. It was here that he became a professional film director.

In 1992, Gregory of Constantinople decideddirecting music videos. The debut work of the author in show business is the shooting of a video for the Pep-See group for the song "Vovochka". Then, for our hero, cooperation with Alla Pugacheva and the Time Out team followed. One of the most successful works of Grigory of Constantinople at the start of his career was the shooting of a video for the song "Don't Sag Under the Changing World" for the cult Russian group Time Machine.
Starting from 1996, the director switched to composing. In collaboration with the groups The Untouchables and The Moral Code, he is working on the creation of several music albums.
Debut films
The debut of Gregory of Constantinople in the big cinema took place in 1999. At this time, the first film of the director called "Eight and a half dollars" was released on wide screens. Such famous Russian artists as Fyodor Bondarchuk, Ivan Okhlobystin and Natalya Andreichenko were invited to play the leading roles in the film. The tape successfully launched at the box office and was a huge success with the audience. Despite this, thereafter, Constantinople did not release new films for a long period.
The director's second full-length film was released only in 2009. It was a comedy film "Kitty" with Viktor Sukhorukov, Alexander Strizhenov and Mikhail Efremov in the lead roles. The film was divided into separate episodes, each of which told its own, original story. Communication between actorstape is installed only in the final. It is worth noting that in the course of working on the creation of the picture, Konstantinopolsky tried on the role of not only a director, but also a producer and scriptwriter.
Surprisingly, the comedy "Kitty" was completely filmed in a little over three months. At the same time, the cost of creating the picture amounted to only $ 100,000. Nevertheless, this did not prevent the tape from receiving a whole series of prestigious awards, in particular the Silver Boat Award and the Guild of Film Critics Award.
Acting career
Back in 1990, Gregory of Constantinople tried himself as an actor. The debut work for the young artist in this field was the role of a student in the Soviet film "Anna Karamazoff", directed by Rustam Khamdamov. The arthouse film premiered at the 1991 Cannes Film Festival. However, the film "Anna Karamazoff" was never destined to be released on wide screens in the USSR. The reason was the conflict between the producer and director of the tape.
The second acting work of Grigory Mikhailovich was a dramatic film directed by Alexander Khvan called "Dyuba-Dyuba". In the film, where Konstantinopolsky plays a character named Victor, the theme of the difficult life of Soviet citizens during the collapse of the USSR is revealed. It is noteworthy that, like the debut work of our hero as an actor, the presented film also appeared in the rotation of the Cannes Film Festival, but was not successful at the domestic box office.
Last workdirector
Among the most recent creations of Konstantinopolsky as a director, it is worth noting the work on the creation of a four-episode television project "Drunk Firm". The comedy film, which starred Mikhail Efremov, Ivan Makarevich, Marat Basharov and a whole galaxy of fairly famous actors, was released in 2016.
The tape tells about the fate of the former doctor Grigory Shtuchny, who has to work as a security guard in a hospital. The main character suffers from a severe form of alcoholism. For this reason, he develops a drug that relieves a severe hangover, and is also able to withdraw from hard drinking. Soon, the creation of a miracle cure turns into a real business for Piece. In this, Gregory is helped by his young companion named Ilya. As the story progresses, the central characters of the film engage themselves in a cycle of funny stories and incredible adventures.
