Another full-fledged hero of the picture is music. It is rich, dramatic, sometimes sentimental, and it seems that you can see with your own eyes its brilliance, flight and play. It is music that is at the center of this film, it collects bit by bit a family that was once broken by the will of fate. Music, along with the actors, draws the viewer a spiritual palette of the main characters. Each melody makes the heart tremble, conveying the amazing moods of the inner spiritual strings of the little creator. How important it is to listen, and even more important to hear! This invisible call runs throughout the film. Therefore, August hears and creates it, eager to bring his world to as many people as possible. But he is driven not by a thirst for fame, but by a hope, very fragile, but at the same time unshakable, that his loved one will hear him and find a way to him. The leading actors of the film "August Rush" - Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Keri Russell - are directly related to music, so their feeling and perception on the screen looks very natural and believable.

Composed by American Mark Mancina, who devoted eighteen months to creating the soundtrack for the film. He is quite famous in Hollywood and has collaborated with the Disney film company more than once. Arranged to his creditsongs for the cartoons "Brother Bear", "The Lion King", "Tarzan". He recognizes the melody in the rain on the glass, in the rhythmic hops of children playing outside, even in the rustle of leaves. “Music is all around us, all we need is to listen” - such a worldview, emphasized by unsurpassed musical accompaniment, cannot leave the viewer indifferent. The film seems to present the young hero as a living embodiment of music, which is subject to all the instruments and sounds known to the world.

Freddie Highmore won the 2008 Saturn Award for August Rush. Reviews about this picture wereambiguous. Despite the increased audience sympathy and approval, some critics found Kirsten Sheridan's work too sentimental.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers

Irish charismatic actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers played the role of August's father, Louis Connelly. Being a very musical person by nature, he himself performed some of the songs written for the film. Myers' hero opens up gradually, his depressing mood caused by life's failures, inner longing, are gradually dispelled. The closer Louis gets to his son and lover, the brighter and more cheerful his state becomes, which is conveyed by a wonderful acting game.

Forced separation, abandoned musical group - all the tragedy of the situation is beginning to dissipate. Sensitive, but at the same time temperamental, determined and romantic, Louis, who as a child talked with the moon, who so desperately could not forget the beloved that struck his heart after a single night spent with her, returns to life, apparently feeling the same as August.

Keri Russell

The beautiful cellist played by Keri Russell is the mother of August Rush. Layla, that's the name of her heroine, found herself in a difficult life situation. Suppressed by her domineering father, after another quarrel, being pregnant, she gets hit by a car. Although the child survives, she is told otherwise.

With such a mental wound, Laila has been going through life for eleven years, notstop thinking about your baby. Upon learning that her boy is alive, she rushes to find him. Laila convinces others that she hears her son, and, despite the protests of her loved ones, she manages to achieve her goal.

Robin Williams

Robin Williams plays a supporting role, but does it, as always, inimitable, as befits one of the most talented actors. His hero the Sorcerer takes care of some children who earn extra money by playing music on the noisy streets of the metropolis. The hero of Robin cannot be called categorically negative, he combines a lot. The bitterness of a failed life, perhaps the internal tears that happened to him in the past, left a certain imprint. The sorcerer has lost faith in people, hope for the best, he does not trust almost anyone. But children evoke in him the best feelings and emotions that only remained in him. He protects them in his own way, empathizes with them and even loves them.

The sorcerer helps the little genius to open up, of course, to some extent, pursuing his own interests. It is he who gives the boy the name August Rush. Actors playing children noted a wonderful connection with Robin Williams and could behave absolutely naturally. Williams himself was helped by his inherent sense of humor and extensive experience working with children.

The film "August Rush" is unusual and unique. Actors and roles spelled out very subtly, amazing background music, exciting and compelling plot - all this creates a single story, very light, which leaves a pleasant aftertaste and, of course, tunes inpositive fret.
