Now they can only glide through other worlds, hoping for good luck, because not all worlds are safe, and therefore the heroes are waiting for a lot of adventures and even a mission to save the world. But will they be able to return home? This is what the television series “Sliders” or “Parallel Worlds” tells about.
Main characters
Queen Melory is the protagonist of the story, who studies physics at the university. Well, he is most interested in string theory and the works of Einstein, Podolsky and Rosen.
He accidentally invents a device that allows him to slip into parallel dimensions of the planet Earth. Quinn tells his girlfriend Wade Wells and Professor Arturo about his discovery, after which he goes with them to explore the unknown, but they fail to return from their first trip.
Wade Wells is the main character's girlfriend who is in love with him. She is a computer expert and Quin's loyal companion as she glides through other worlds.
Professor Maximilian Arturo is Professor of Cosmology and Ontology at the University of California, where Queen is a student. He is a little narcissistic and a little jealous that he did not invent the slider. But he loves Quin Melory and in one of the episodes he says that he would like to have a son like Quinn.
Rembrandt Brown accidentally enters the portalalong with his Cadillac. It sucks, as the power of the slider was too high. Rembrandt didn't really want to slide, but he was the only one who didn't have a choice. Later, Quinn and Rembrandt become best friends.
Other characters
Maggie Beckett is a captain in the US Air Force. Joined Quinn and his team in the third season. The Sliders accidentally witnessed the death of Maggie's husband, and she decided to go with them, hoping that she would find those responsible for her husband's death. So, the heroine wanted revenge.
Colin Melory - Quin's brother, from whom he was separated by his parents, being also sliders (sliding between worlds). Quinn meets Colin in one of the worlds where everything is at the level of the 19th century, so Colin behaves a little strange and naive. He joins the team in 4-5 seasons.

Interesting facts
As if gliding through the sky, the actors in the guise of their characters glided through unknown worlds, but one day a real tragedy occurred on the set, and guest star Ken Steadman died, pinned down by a buggy while working on the episode "Desert Storm".
Also in the pilot episode, Professor Arturo calls Lenin by the name Nikolai, although, as you know, Lenin was always called Vladimir, but apparently the professor knows that the name Nikolai was one of Ilyich's pseudonyms.
One of the episodes was inspired by Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz.
References to books are not uncommon in the series, with many episodes inspired by fantasy novels.

Thanks to the fans, the series was extended for several seasons, but it could have been closed even after the release of the first.
