The ex-wife of the pope comes to their house and asks him to help their son Andrei, who quarrels with the leadership, for which he is sent to fight in Afghanistan, where he is mortally wounded.

They want to take Masha away, but Larisa Alekseevna, Tanya's mother, assures that she will adopt Masha, and the inspectors leave the child in the Golubev family.
