More than fifty years of creative activity he devoted to song and stage. From deeply lyrical to passionate works in their patriotism - such is the palette of creativity of this unusual artist, singer, public figure. But, unfortunately, all people are mortal. On August 30, 2018, the artist died … Kobzon's death shocked the whole country.

Many people knew or guessed about Kobzon's extraordinary capacity for work and devotion to art.

During his life he recorded more than 3000 songs, gave up to 12 concerts a day

• On the day of your farewell toIosif Kobzon staged a concert more than 11 hours long, from seven in the evening to six in the morning.
• He was always in hot spots, supporting the traditions of Russian singers and actors and brightening up the military everyday life of our soldiers on the front lines. In peacetime, he managed to form an acting team that traveled to the places of hostilities: to Afghanistan, post-war Chechnya, the rebellious Donbass … By the way, in Donetsk a lifetime monument was erected to I. Kobzon, streets and museums were named in his unit.
• Iosif Davydovich Kobzon always gave concerts in Russia, delighting not only residents of the capital, but also distant provincial cities with his talented, sincere and soulful performance of songs, where he was always warmly welcomed, and concerts were held to full house.
• The audience was waiting for him not only at home, but also abroad, the artist visited 100 countries of the world with tours.

The date of Kobzon's death is August 30, 2018. He left the stage, but the songs of Joseph Davydovich remained forever in the memory of the audience.

About courage, about conscience, about glory

Having survived a military childhood, difficulties and hardships at an early age, the artist has always been kind to children, especially orphans.

He took two orphanages under his wing back in the eighties. And all the years voluntarily and without advertising helped. These are orphanages in Yasnaya Polyana and Tula. The best proof is the words of Tatyana Alekseevna, director of one of the orphanages in Yasnaya Polyana:

Iosif Davidovich is the dearest, dearest person in ourhome. Chairman of the Board of Trustees, he solves all our problems: repair, construction, recently donated a car for household needs. He buys housing for graduates, puts significant amounts on their savings books so that he has something to start life with, knows all the guys by name, and is interested in how the fate of those who have completed their studies is developing. Employees are paid for holidays, the whole house is paid for a summer vacation in Anapa. I don't know how we would have survived without him.”

I want to believe that Kobzon's death will not deal too much a blow to these houses, other donors will appear and disappear, and orphans will not be left without the help and guardianship of intelligent, noble and disinterested people, to match I. D. Kobzon.

It is no coincidence that the singer was awarded the title of honorary citizen in twenty-nine cities of Russia and the CIS, including Moscow. In the capital, over the past 140 years, I. Kobzon has become the 24th honorary citizen of Belokamennaya.

Fight disease

Fight with all your might for life - this can be learned. Only close relatives and friends knew what courage Iosif Kobzon had, which was required to fight a serious illness.

• Since the early 2000s, for the first time, he alth has deteriorated: severe back pain, diagnosed diabetes. Without completing the procedures and examination, I. Kobzon leaves for Astana to participate in the International Assembly of large cities and capitals of the CIS countries. After three days of participation, he returned to Moscow with a serious deterioration in he alth, fever, and from June 14 to June 30, 2001 fell into a coma. He was rescued.
• In 2005, Iosif Kobzon was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor, in a German clinic he underwent a complex operation to remove the tumor. But the operation led to a deterioration in the singer's well-being, a drop in immunity, as a result - sepsis and the formation of blood clots. Secondary surgery brought no improvement. Finally, in 2009, after an operation in Moscow, the singer was saved at the oncology center on Kashirsky. Death from Kobzon receded this time as well.

Larisa Dolina spoke about this difficult time for the singer:

He has such strength of character, such strength of will and such a zest for life that he has outwitted everything. He outwitted death. Five days after the most difficult operation, he arrives in Jurmala, goes on stage, unlike many of our "stars", sings live.

And another eleven years of fighting death that we, the audience, knew nothing about. We just knew that another holiday would come in the country, there would be a big concert on TV, and Iosif Kobzon would definitely come on stage and sing, so much so that goosebumps would run through the skin …

No one guessed that he was so seriously and terribly ill. It was necessary to continue treatment in one country abroad, then in another. And here is the sanctions list, which included the name of Joseph Kobzon due to the events in Ukraine, even the President of the Russian Federation V. V. Putin assisted the singer in the possibility of obtaining a national Italian visa. Too muchtreatment was difficult, the singer was too expensive for the whole country.

The family has always been there in joy and in difficult days

How important it is for any person to receive support in difficult days of life's trials. Do not be left alone with adversity. A public, famous, titled person, like an ordinary simple person, also needs love, sympathy, support.

Iosif Davydovich had a very strong and friendly family, sincere love and good relationships always illuminated the difficult fate of the outstanding singer.

Nellie's wife, the singer's muse, was the first to calmly and bravely say about the fatal diagnosis: "We will be treated, we will fight." And maybe thanks to this mood, Iosif Kobzon managed to endure incredible he alth problems for such a long time.

The singer and his wife, his muse, have lived in one breath for the past forty-seven years.

What remains after

Kobzon Iosif Davydovich left two children and seven grandchildren. Although the singer himself believed that he had ten grandchildren, as he took care of two more children of his son's first wife, but born from another marriage, as well as his sister's grandson.

The artist spoke about his most beloved people:

I can easily go to another world, they have everything. Both children and grandchildren: all are we althy, all are educated. The daughter graduated from MGIMO, the son graduated from the Law University. Two granddaughters became students this year: one, Polina, is now studying at Moscow State University, the second, Edel -at the University of London. The rest are growing. They love my country, the songs their grandfather sings…

And for him such concepts as family friendship, mutual understanding and kindness have always been important, but the most important thing is love for a woman, especially for a mother.

He never stopped mourning his mother, who died in 1991. According to the singer himself, she has been a moral guide for him all his life.

The artist talked about his mother like this:

Wherever I went, I always consulted with my mother. My mother always told me: “Do not feel sorry for yourself and do not feel sorry for anything for others, because goodness will definitely return.” My mother was a very wise woman. This is my god, my religion.

Ida Shoikhet-Kobzon passed away in 1991, but remained forever in the memory of her son the same as before: incredibly tactful and cultured, energetic and loving, I. Kobzon carried her advice and instructions through his whole life.

At the Vostryakovsky cemetery, where the mother of Joseph Kobzon is buried, the singer himself was buried, next to his beloved mother.

The day will come, and with a flock of cranes…

Summer this year turned out to be difficult, especially for people with poor he alth. In the last days of July, the singer felt worse and was hospitalized. By August 7, the newspapers reported that he had been discharged from the hospital. But the joy was short-lived, in mid-August Kobzon was again admitted to the hospital in serious condition.

Doctors fought for his life to the last: they managed to stabilize his condition, but not for long. The body, undermined by the disease, began to fail, it was necessary to connect life support devices. First came the coma. And in the last days of August, Joseph Kobzon died. Date of death - August 30, 2018. Buried 2 September. A memorial service was held at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall.

The death of the singer, people's artist and public figure shocked many - from ordinary citizens to people of the highest rank.

At the farewell ceremony in connection with the death of Kobzon arrived: Russian President V. V. Putin, Prime Minister of Russia D. A. Medvedev, President of Belarus A. G. republic - the self-proclaimed DPR - Alexander Zakharchenko (now deceased), the first female cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova, the leader of the LDPR party Vladimir Zhirinovsky and many other famous politicians and public figures.

The funeral of Joseph Kobzon was honored by the presence of Russian pop stars and famous figures of culture, theater and cinema.

September 2, at 14:00, to the sounds of the song "How young we were", the coffin with the singer's body was transferred to the street, loaded into a hearse, and continued moving towards the Vostryakovskoye cemetery. In the place where the mother of Joseph Kobzon is buried, an outstanding singer was also buried next to her. I. Kobzon purchased a place next to the burial place of his mother in 2017.

The funeral took place withmilitary honors. The funeral ceremony was attended by the son - Andrei Kobzon, who read Kaddish - a memorial prayer in Hebrew over the coffin of the deceased father.

The singer left this world forever. But we still have his songs and an example of selfless service to the Motherland.
