There is such a group - Slipknot. Eccentric and even (I'm not afraid of this word) brutal-looking guys, wearing branded Slipknot masks and overalls, literally burn the audience. Plus, not always aesthetic behavior, scenes splashed with vomit and a huge number of other nuances that clearly distinguish the guys from the general mass of rockers. I do not argue that their music is of high quality, although they are clearly not remembered for this. Song performance style - nu-metal, alternative-metal.

Image is nothing? Controversial issue

Slipknot masks, according to the band members themselves, are a way to remove their faces from the screens so that the audience listens only to music and does not bother with the appearance of the musicians. Well, if they really believe in it, then so be it. But in fact, Slipknot masks have played the exact opposite effect - they have become popular, and no one will confuse the Slipknot musicians with other rock colleagues.

The group was formed in 1992, that is, it is more than twenty years old. But the masks first appeared three years later, that is, in 1995. The idea was proposed by Sean Crahan, who, wearing a clown mask, annealed on stage for the most "do not indulge." Naturally, the rest of the group mates used the same way to distinguish themselves. Then it was akin to insanity, and so much so that the masks were on the artists not only on stage, but also at meetings with fans, the media. A sort of X people who did not want anyone to see the true face of everyone.

Although, according to Sean Crahan, it just makes him sick to look at himself in the video without a mask. He, apparently, does not really like to bother with his appearance, and therefore, in order not to provoke the masses into gossip, he put on a mask and lost all his make-up problems.

The rest of the bandmates chose Slipknot masks for themselves, taking into account their own spiritual world, the way they see themselves. With this, at least, Joey Jordison and Corey Taylor quite agree. The latter even stated that the mask reflects all the negativity of his essence (although it was said more specifically, it is hardly possible to publicly voice his speech).

But once Joey Jordison hinted that a performance at one of the clubs, figuratively speaking, made them lose their faces, after which the era of the mysterious guys from Slipknot came. It is not known what happened at that performance, but it is clear that they were greatly offended.

After that, it was customary for Slipknot to wear masks. Of course, everything in the world is changing. They changed too. As the group Slipknot developed, new masks gradually changed the appearance of the group members. And even later, the guys began to appear at all onpeople without them. Here they are, the many-sided masks of Slipknot!

Jumpsuits

Following the masks, the group also got jumpsuits. Judging by the words of the same Sean Crahan, he put on the jumpsuit first and all for the same reason - someone said something about his appearance and game. In addition, in uncomfortable clothes, it was somewhat difficult for him to play the drums. Already at the next performance, the drummer came in overalls. The rest of the guys also got infected with this idea. Playing has become much more convenient. Over time, their clothes changed, their symbolism and appearance changed. The fabric got thicker. Corey Taylor once joked about playing in such "braziers", saying that they lose weight in this way, since in forty-degree heat the temperature in the suit doubles. He called it Slipknot-style weight loss. However, with their lifestyle without humor anywhere. And after the death of bassist Paul Gray in 2010, you really need to hold on, as they have already become somewhat worn out, cooled down. Although they continue to churn out albums. Looking forward to the news of 2014.
