Rotger Valdes: review and character history

This is one of the central characters of the literary cycle "Reflections of Eterna" by Vera Kamshi. He appears already closer to the second half of the Aldo Racan uprising, therefore, by the end of the story as such, the hero plays a rather serious role in the course of the plot. For the first time, the reader encounters Rotger Valdes when the conflict between Taliga and the sailors Driksen, affectionately nicknamed "geese", is overgrown with details. At the moment, he holds the post of vice admiral and dashing captain of his own high-speed vessel. Acts as a vassal of the heir of the Wind, Germont Arrigo, generic colors - silver and black.

First appearance of the character and place in the narrative

Before the events described in "Winter Break", little was known about Rotger Valdez. He is mentioned in passing as a talented naval commander and confidant of Neumarinen, Duke of the North, but still the character was fully revealed only in the volume described above. There he appears as an allusion to Roque Alva, as he is also the heir of the mariquiare blood and the vassal of the Wind. He is familiar with Marshal Taliga and has boasted more than once that he would gladly meet Alva onlists as an opponent in a tournament. During the conflict with the warriors, Drixen occupies one of the central positions of the plan for the defense of the coastline, easily boards, impulsive and impudent.

Appearance

Rotger Valdez is often referred to as the "Sunset Thing". Like the mentioned image, he has a beautiful dark hair and black eyes to match the hair. In his appearance, it is easy to notice the features of immigrants from Marikjare, namely, sharp cheekbones, sensual lips, and the athletic physique of a dancer. Vice Admiral, nicknamed Mad, loves loose-fitting clothing that does not restrict movement and is great for combat. Of the colors, she prefers silver and black, somewhat reminiscent of Alva. But if the duke is more refined, then there is pressure and even some rudeness in the appearance of Rotger Valdez.

Temperament and habits

Rotger Valdez's character is a dashing sea pirate, Zorro, if you will. He is charismatic, noble, cruel to enemies and unique in love games. At least that's what it looks like at first glance. However, it is very superficial. In fact, Rotger Valdes is a man of honor who is ready to die for Talig and his principles. Like many military men, he is fanatically devoted to power and Roque. In battle, the real temperament of the vice admiral is shown. He was called mad not for his temper, but for his fighting style, which is completely opposed to the prudent movements of the Bergers.

Rotger Valdes tends to charm young ladies becausehas an imposing appearance and a sharp tongue. He prefers to be the first in the cut, he is dearly loved by his team, because they see him as a mentor and friend at the same time. He has close ties with Marshal Taliga, with whom he once sailed the Camorista, as well as Ramon Almeida. Presumably, he (as a vassal of the Wind) is patronized by ketskhen, elemental spirits, which Rotger Valdez calls "girls".

Biography and brief extracts from the position of the image in books

Rotger Valdes is known to have been born in the year 360 of the Circle of the Rocks. That is, at the time of the story, he is 38 years old, although outwardly he looks much younger. As a child, he lived with his father on the island of Marikjare, where he fell in love with the sea and the fresh breeze forever. At the age of 16, he was trained at the Laik military academy in the capital. The history of Rotger Valdez's acquaintance with Roque is unknown, although it presumably happened immediately after the training. The fame of the exploits of these characters thunders after 15-18 years. The name of Valdez's father, like that of his mother, is unknown. The books only mention that he could not get past the "blond braids" of the vice admiral's mother, who was from the Berger people.

Belief and story influence

Rotger Valdez is not an Allarian. Rather, it can be called "old believer". Because the vice admiral had personally seen the spirits of the Wind, one of the four primordial forces in "Glimpses of Aeterna". Presumably, like Roque, he knowsthe sacred meaning of the "Sword of the Wind" and other attributes of Kertiana. At the time of the events of the second volume of "The Blue Eye of Death", the character is fully aware of the events in Nador and knows or guesses about Roque's real identity. It is quite possible that he belongs to the "old nobility", closely associated with magic.

"Reflections of Eterna" is a unique literary cycle, riddled with living characters and interesting events. Many of them are truly memorable. Rotger Valdes can also be included in this category. The rabid vice admiral, in complete contrast to the new Taliga nobility, is a "knight with a sword" who will defend his people to the last and, grinning, will meet death with a weapon in his hand. It is thanks to such characters that the reader loves the work of Vera Kamshi. As for the future of the hero, the fans are counting on the fact that it will be cloudless.
