The author gives the character a very unflattering description - they say, the character is intended to reflect the shortcomings of the psychology of a Soviet citizen who invades private life and strictly observes stupid formalities, neglecting common sense - for example, he does not give the parcel, although he knows the addressee perfectly.

Even in Soviet people, A. Khrenov believes, there is a very strong tendency to endlessly search for violations of various rules, the desire for control where it is inappropriate. The initial "interrogation" of the main characters performed by this character really sounds ridiculous, after all, Pechkin is a postman. A meticulous resident of Prostokvashino also does not consider the photo of Uncle Fyodor posted in the newspaper to be sufficient for identification. For the final verdict, he is with a folding ruler - "measure your boy".

In this regard, the Doctor of Philosophy imputes to the character the resemblance to the undertaker or jailer, finding his image sinister. And he immediately explains Pechkin’s habit of sticking his nose into other people’s affairs with an “anachronistic consciousness”, whichis in the “heyday of Soviet repressive mores.”

When Sharik and Matroskin began to divide the property, none other than our hero sends a “speaking letter” to the city, considering it necessary for someone to intervene authoritatively to correct the situation - otherwise “they will soon start sawing the stove, and then the hut.”

The reconciliation of the two "sworn friends" takes place after the famous squabble, in which it turns out that "if you roll a barrel on him, then this is already a container transportation", and there is also a statement that "Ivan Fedorovich Kruzenshtern is a man and steamboat!”

Not always a self-serving postman

In this series of the cartoon about Prostokvashino, the postman Pechkin helps his friends free of charge and even stays to celebrate the New Year with Uncle Fyodor, Sharik and Matroskin, uttering another catchphrase along the way: “The main decoration of the New Year's table is the TV. Creating a piece

According to the decision of director Popov, the creative team was divided. The set designer L. Khachatryan worked on the images of some of the characters (father, mother, postman Pechkin and uncle Fyodor). Animals (a dog, a cat, a cow with a calf and a gal) were taken over by N. Erykalov. It is interesting that the only character in respect of which the authors could not come to a consensus is one of the main characters, Uncle Fedor. Therefore, his appearance changes from series to series (however, corrosive viewers found certain differences in the hero’s mother).

The reason for the stunning success of the cartoon, of course, is the wonderful script by Eduard Uspensky. Vivid images, concise witty remarks - all this ensured a long life for the work and the love of the audience.

Great value is also great scoring roles. Oleg Tabakov, in whose voice Matroskin speaks, is indeed associated with an imposing, sophisticated cat, and Lev Durov did an excellent job of voicing Sharik.

The voice used by the postman Pechkin belongs to Boris Novikov.
