She studied with pleasure, easily finished Sliver, she was already invited to the Maly Theater, but when she helped a fellow student in Sovremennik at the graduation performance, she was immediately invited there. The actress met her future husband (Yuri Vasiliev) in Gelendzhik. She and her friend were resting on the sea and suddenly her eyes met the eyes of a young man coming out of the water. It was love at first sight.

It turned out that Yuri Vasiliev is studying in Moscow at VGIK. Nelly was then a student at the Shchepkinsky School. Surely everyone remembers Vasiliev in the role of Rodion in the film Moscowdoes not believe in tears. The entire female half of the Soviet Union was in love with the imposing actor. But before the premiere of Menshov's film, Yuri Vasilyev was known as the main character in Sergei Gerasimov's film The Journalist.

For the USSR, this film was a sensation, it was filmed not only at home, but also in France, where Vasilyev met with Ani Girardot and Mireille Mathieu.

Unlike the hero in Menshov's picture, Yuri was an ideal husband and father. Their daughter Katya was born, everything went on as usual. But one day, Vasiliev, having come home and refusing to have dinner, lay down on the bed and fell asleep. But this dream turned out to be eternal.
