He succeeds, but the deal falls through. This fact will subsequently have a negative impact on business reputation.

However, the book "Hotel" is not limited to one storyline. Arthur Hailey spins another story in parallel, concerning an accident that killed a mother and a child. Head of security Ogilvie knows who committed this crime and for money helps the Croyden family cover his tracks.
