The father of the future artist was a career officer - Leshchenko Valeryan Andreevich. Mom died when Leva was not even one year old. At the age of four, the child learned what military service is - he spent all day with his father at work: he dined in the soldiers' canteen, watched the soldiers at the shooting range during the day, and watched a movie with them in the evening. And, as it should be for all the military, he even wore a uniform, however, it was three sizes larger.

When Leva was six years old, the second wife of Valeryan Andreevich appeared in their house. Now the boy had someone to call his mother. She was a kind, sincere woman, but since she was raising two nephews, and soon gave birth to her own daughter, she had practically no time for Levushka.

The future artist began to work immediately after school. First as a worker in a theater, then as a mechanic at a factory. During this time, I tried several times to enter the theater, but they were in no hurry to accept the guy as a student. Upon reaching draft age, Lev Valeryanovich went to serve in the army. And even there he took steps towards his childhood dream. The command, having learned about the vocal and acting abilities of ordinary Leshchenko, assigned him to the song and dance ensemble as a soloist. After the service, Leo again goes to GITIS. This time, the professors, who already remembered the stubborn guy well, took pity on him and accepted him into the ranks of students. Already in the second year, no onedoubted that Leshchenko was a born artist.

The real fame came to the artist in 1972, when he won the competition of young performers in the city of Sopot. A sincere smile, an open face and an honest look of a charming young man in a white suit with a butterfly left no one indifferent. The whole country loved him. The only dream of the artist, which was not destined to come true, is children, none of Leshchenko's wives gave him descendants.
