As you know, a normal person has 32 teeth. Each of them has a different shape, structure and purpose. The anterior ones are called incisors, followed by fangs and chewing teeth. Nature gave us incisors and fangs so that we could bite through our food, and molars, or wisdom teeth, in order to chew it further. To understand how to draw a tooth, you need to understand a little about its internal structure.
How does a human tooth work?
Students studying at the Faculty of Dentistry are forced to make a huge amount of detailed anatomical drawings during their studies. But we will consider only the main parts of the tooth and move on to drawing. All of them have a crown covered with white enamel. Under it, the inner layers are hidden - dentin, pulp and nerve. Long and strong roots grow deep into the jaw from the tooth: in the front it is one, and in the far ones - from two to four.
How to draw a tooth with kids?
In order not to go into anatomical details, for a child or a beginner, it is enough to remember the two main parts - the crown and the roots. The easiest way to draw a tooth is to imagine it in the shape of a heart with legs.
- Draw an elongated heart.
- Add roots-legs to it.
This simple example is the easiest way to understand the overall shape of a tooth. Later, you can proceed to a more detailed drawing.
How to draw a three-dimensional tooth?
In order to correctly and proportionately draw a human tooth, you need to approach the task more seriously. The best way to learn is by observation, and you can examine them up close in front of a mirror. Looking closely, you can see that our teeth (at least real ones) are not quite ideal and symmetrical proportions, as well as many bulges, depressions and bumps.
A play of light and shadows is the basis of three-dimensional drawing. Therefore, in the recesses of the tooth, it is necessary to indicate the shadow, and show glare on its convex parts.
Besides, don't forget about the roots. In nature, they are extremely rare in an ideal straight shape. Most often they have curvature, and one of them, as a rule, is longer than the others. To keep the proportion, you need to remember that the crown of the tooth is usually half the length of its root, and in order not to be mistaken, you can use a ruler in the process of drawing.
It is worth starting to draw a tooth with the primitive forms described above. Gradually, you can add texture, volume and realism with strokes. Drawing a tooth is easy enough as it is one of those thingswhich we face daily and can imagine firsthand.

Though the eye sees, but the tooth is dumb, or the fable "The Fox and the grapes"
Ivan Andreevich Krylov reworked fables already written in antiquity. However, he did it extremely masterly, with a certain sarcasm inherent in fables.
