Unknown in Russia, but dearly loved in our homeland and famous and in demand in the West, playwright Jordi Galceran, presented us with a wonderful play "The Gronholm Method". It was this work that brought him popularity, it was even made into a full-length film.

Overall analysis

The play "The Gronholm Method" was written 10 years ago, but it is still relevant now more than ever. The office here is just a metaphor, the whole world is mired in inhumanity, and this is most clearly manifested in office employees. This work can be called a psychological detective - tense, but at the same time with notes of humor and sarcasm. Until the very end, it is impossible to understand where the lie is, and where the sincerity is, the heroes have to resort to the most unexpected maneuvers in order to end up being the only winner. The idea of the play "The Gronholm Method" consists, first of all, in revealing to all mankind the truth that everything human in many of us has long been dead, and we are just empty shells, actors who change their roles every day in order to get as much as possible

more profit duringeveryone. And it doesn't matter if you're coming to an interview or visiting your future wife's parents, the skill lies in appearing to be what the people around you want to see. The Gronholm Method puts masks on the heroes in order to reveal their true nature, to show them who they are.

Story summary

The story begins with job seekers coming to the office of a large corporation. They were lured by money and power, but they still do not know that no one is waiting for them in this office, and they will conduct an interview with themselves. The attention of the reader can be attracted by a bright detail of the interior design. This is a stuffed shark - it seems to hint at the principle of operation of such companies and a person in the modern world. All that awaits our heroes inside is an empty hall where a cruel game will unfold.

Having gathered in one place, the “players” wonder why none of the leaders met them, what to do next. They will receive the answer on the computer screen, in the form of a task, and there will be several of them. All characters are given freedom of choice: if you don't want to, you can leave. But it is imaginary, there is no turning back, and our heroes are not so stupid as to lose without starting the game. The main intrigue of the play "The Gronholm Method" is that one of the applicants is actually a decoy duck, that is, an employee of the company, and they have yet to find out who it is. One of the mocking tasks is to act out a plane crash, the "players" are masked and forced to decide who to give the only parachute to. But it is notthe most terrible task, as if they want to squeeze out of them all that humanity that remains in them. As a result, a whole drama unfolds, the mental suffering of the heroes stumbles upon a wall of their own indifference.

Final

There can only be one winner, but the question is who is it: a cynical scoundrel or a good person. Modern society, hidden under the guise of office drama, is on display, but not every viewer will see themselves in this chaos. The Gronholm Method is a book worth reading and appreciating, it is truly a revelation of modernity.
