Stefan Grinovsky, or Stepan in Russian, married a young nurse, Anna Lepkova.

Alexander was their first son. He was born in 1880. The child had a peculiar character. He constantly played pranks and at some point was expelled from the school. From childhood, he fell in love with reading, and his first reference book was the satirical story "Gulliver's Adventures". As you know, there were elements of fantasy in it, so it is not surprising that Green Alexander wrote in this genre in his adulthood. The pseudonym under which he became known in Russian literature was an abbreviated form of his father's surname. That's what his schoolmates called him.
