We went to rehearsals at the Moscow Art Theater, the theater of V. Meyerhold and so on. The teachers were such personalities as A. Tairov, V. Pashennaya and I. Moskvin. They came to conduct classes with the students. In 1937, professionals who came from other cities joined the amateur troupe. The first performances of actors andlovers were "Woe from Wit" and "Profitable Place". In 1938 the theater received professional status. In 1941, the troupe was evacuated, many artists went to the front and not all returned. During the war, the theater collapsed. The troupe was reassembled from artists transferred (by order of the Department of Arts) from the Smolensk region. The creative path of the theater was not easy. For 50 years he did not have his own building. Since 1999, the theater has been named after V. M. Kachalin.
