History of the theater

The Gorky Moscow Art Theater, the photo of the building of which is presented in this article, was founded in 1898. K. S. Stanislavsky and V. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko decided to create their own theater, the program of which would be based on innovative principles. They cared for a new style of acting, for the absence of false pathos, melody and recitation, for a new system in performances, for expanding and enriching the repertoire, for the authenticity of recreating the surroundings. The new theater was headed by V. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko (who took over as Managing Director) and K. S. Stanislavsky, who became the chief director. The troupe was assembled from students of Vladimir Ivanovich and amateur actors who participated in the productions of Konstantin Sergeevich.

The first performance of the theater took place in October 1898. It was the tragedy "Tsar Fyodor Ioannovich" by A. Tolstoy. In the same year, the premiere of "The Seagull" by A. P. Chekhov took place. The theater of K. S. Stanislavsky and V. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko was fresh, original, and many praised him, but not a lotThere were those who scolded him. For the first 4 years of its existence, the troupe did not have its own building. The performances were played in the rented premises of the Hermitage Theatre. Its hall accommodated 815 spectators. The Moscow Art Theater was not a state theater at that time and did not receive subsidies from the state, depending on how much it earned with its productions, plus from the funds of patrons, the main of which was the famous Savva Morozov, who later took over all financial affairs.

In the 20s of the 20th century, the theater was named the Moscow Art Theater and was elevated to the rank of a state academic theater. This period was not easy, because while working on one of the performances of K. S. Stanislavsky and V. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko, due to disagreements, decided to abandon joint work on productions, as it was before. As a result, Konstantin Sergeevich himself removed himself from work on new productions and took up only managing the activities of young directors. The conflict ended with the fact that in 1934 Konstantin Sergeevich left the Moscow Art Theater. The famous actor and director Oleg Efremov headed the Moscow Art Theater at the end of the 20th century. Under him, the troupe became very large, and many artists lacked roles. This led to conflict. The theater split into two troupes. Some of the artists left with O. Efremov and received the name of the Moscow Art Theater named after A. P. Chekhov. And other artists joined the troupe of Tatyana Doronina and remained at the Gorky Moscow Art Theater. To this day, these two theaters exist separately.

Today, in its repertoire, it has performances for both adults and children of the Gorky Moscow Art Theater. Actors here serve only the mostbright and talented. Among them are a large number of holders of the honorary titles of Honored and People's Artist of Russia.”

You can buy tickets for performances online on the official website of the Gorky Moscow Art Theater. The layout of the hall will help you choose a convenient location in terms of location and finances in the auditorium.

The fairy tale was resumed precisely in the direction of Konstantin Sergeevich. Actors are involved in the performance: T. N. Mironova,G. V. Romodina, A. S. Chaikina, N. N. Medvedev, G. S. Kartashov, M. V. Yuryeva, N. Yu. Morgunova, E. V. Livanova, O. N. Dubovitskaya, V. I. Masenko. This is an enchanting story that is filled with music. This performance always evokes a response in children's souls. More than one generation has grown up on it. The favorite scene of all viewers is the one in which miracles happen: fire, bread, milk come to life. The performance has been staged at the Moscow Art Theater for 104 years. This is a performance based on the play by A. N. Ostrovsky. This performance is the premiere of this theatrical season. The roles in the production are performed by: B. A. Bachurin, Yu. A. Rakovich, M. V. Boytsov, I. S. Krivoruchko, L. N. Martynova, V. R. Kh alturin, A. A. Khatnikov, D. V. Korepin, I. S. Rudominskaya, N. N. Medvedev, O. N. Dubovitskaya, V. L. Rovinsky. It turns out that some families are prosperous only in appearance. Love will turn into an all-consuming passion and turn a modest good man into a vengeful Othello. For many years this play was undeservedly forgotten and "lived" in the shadow of "Thunderstorm" and "Dowry". But the Gorky Moscow Art Theater decided to give her a new life on stage and introduce the viewer to this undeservedly forgotten masterpiece, in which Shakespearean passions boil.
