The "Wyoming incident" is the name given to the strange (and many consider mystical or mysterious) incident that occurred on November 22, 1987. There is still a lot of speculation going around around him. The story has become overgrown with details, and today it is no longer possible to determine what was true and what was a figment of fantasy.
The only thing known for certain is that on that day the TV broadcast was interrupted, and then strange pictures appeared on the screens. It is said that after the end of the video, which lasted only 6 minutes, many went crazy. So what really happened? What was the Wyoming Incident?
One of the popular versions
22.11.1987. Most Wyoming residents, clinging to the screens, are watching with enthusiasm the next series of the multi-episode film Doctor Who. At 11:15 p.m., the film is interrupted, and a strange screensaver appears on the screens: “333-333-333 We Present A SPECIAL PRESENTATION” (We are showing a special presentation.) Large letters seemed to be reflected at the bottom of the screen, and the black-and-gray color of the screensaver had an unpleasant effect on nerves. Then terrible, grinding music poured from the screens. Later, it was allegedly established that it was strongslow-motion musical score for the Silent Hill movie, but maybe that's just speculation. The video began to appear. Signs flashed: “You are sick”, “Why do you hate”, “We are watching you”. In parallel, projections of human heads appeared on the screen.
They reflected different emotions and appeared for a fraction of a second, but it was clear: these people are long dead. Probably, this was facilitated not only by the expression of faces, but also by their complete symmetry. After all, it is known that only the dead have absolutely symmetrical faces. Six minutes later, the splash screen with the numbers 333-333-333 reappeared on the screen, and the video ended. This is the part of the story that is closest to the truth. Further, the Wyoming incident becomes like any popular horror story. It is said that dozens of people lost consciousness or inflicted mortal wounds on themselves. Others went to the hospital and went crazy there. This story has neither confirmation nor refutation.
What could it be?
The story interested everyone. The mystics assured that the broadcast was conducted from outer space, and the faces of aliens appeared on the screen. Religious fans, as always, argued that the end of the world was coming. The techies tried to figure out how to technically explain the Wyoming Incident. It turns out that doing this is easy. You just need to have equipment that can give a stronger signal than the one that comes from the TV tower. Some thought that in 1987 it was impossible to do this. Not true. Already then there were video recorders, and equipment, watching the air, it cost nothing to put any image. More controversy about soundtrack. It is said that binaural beats, infrasound, or other "dangerous" modulations were used. It is possible, but on equipment that costs a lot of money. It is unlikely that the organizers of the draw owned such equipment.
Consequences
They are still being felt.
A few days later, a similar video appeared on screens in Ohio, only instead of the heads of the dead, dolls with bloody eyes were shown. Since then, the incident in Wyoming has been replicated. Similar videos appear on the Web all the time. Sometimes they have their own name. They are sometimes advertised as "Wyoming Incident 333-333-333" but always warned: "Immediately after viewing, you will either go crazy, die, or self-mutilate." There are many examples: "McDonald's advertisement in Japan", "Mereana Mordegard Glesgorv", "Suicidemouce.avi", SSU video, many others. There are a lot of fans to experiment and watch videos to the end. However, the film based on the incident in Wyoming turned out to be the most notable and commercially profitable. It's called "The Call". The film has grossed millions, and its sequels appear almost every year.
