Robie develops a difficult relationship with her, during which he tries to turn the girl into a close friend. She feels sorry for the unlucky Roby in her own way, but there is too much difference between them, and besides, faith in the god of the island, the almighty Magda, prevents rapprochement.

Roby suffers from nostalgia, he lacks the old way of life, civilization, big cities, smog and disasters,described in newspapers. After long months of living on the island, he receives deliverance thanks to his wife Magda, who organized an entire expedition to search for a spouse.
