Gabit Makhmutovich Musrepov (1902 - 1985) - people's writer, critic, literary critic, historian, translator, one of the founders of literature and dramaturgy of Kazakhstan. Born in the village of Zhanazhol, Kostanay region. He became interested in literature as a child, learning to read and write in his native village. From childhood, the boy's imagination has been occupied by folk songs and fairy tales, the poems "Er-Tagan", "Kyz-Zhibek", "Koblandy-batyr". Then close relatives take him to the Ubagansky district and send him to a two-year Russian school.
After studying there for one year, he enters a Russian school of the 2nd stage. With the assistance of his teacher Otetleulov Beket, Gabit Musrepov continued his studies atPresnegorkovskaya school, where he spends the years of the revolution. Otetleulov played an important role in the writer's life. As the writer recalled, his beloved teacher tirelessly repeated to him that a talented person should have lofty goals. Subsequently, his advice and instructions more than once rescued Gabit.
From 1923 to 1926 he studied at the workers' faculty in the city of Orenburg. At this time, Musrepov was fond of the works of Russian poets and writers. He is especially attracted by the work of Maxim Gorky. It was at the workers' faculty that the first steps in literary creativity were taken. During these years, Musrepov met Saken Seifullin, who had a strong influence on his work.
Career start
After the workers' faculty, Gabit Musrepov enters the Agricultural Institute in the city of Omsk and, after graduating, goes to work in the People's Commissariat of Education. He holds responsible positions in the Kazakh publishing house, works as an editor of the Socialist Kazakhstan newspaper and becomes the chairman of the Arts Committee.
Gabit Musrepov started his way from the very bottom of the publishing business. Already at the beginning of his career, he showed himself as a talented, brilliant journalist. As the writer himself said, the newspaper became a wonderful school for him, it gave excellent plots for his future works, taught him to raise pressing life issues, to see and understand life.
Creative path
Gabit Musrepov devoted his first story "In the Abyss" to the theme of the civil war. Simonov "Russian people" and much more. Critics highly appreciated these translations, Musrepov managed to convey the spirit of the writers, very accurately reveal the idea of the works and show the feelings of the characters.
