The Illusion Cinema is the brainchild of the State Film Fund of Russia. It is located near the Kremlin, in the very center of the capital.

There are almost seventy thousand films in the film storage facilities located in the building towering on Kotelnicheskaya embankment. There are no analogues of such a collection all over the world.

History of Creation

The cinema "Illusion" for the first time invited viewers to watch films as early as 1966-18-03. collections of films stored in the storerooms of Gosfilmofond.

The main goal pursued by this order was to promote the best works of not only Soviet, but also foreign cinematography. The document also indicated the opening of the Gosfilmofond cinema in a room located on Kotelnicheskaya Embankment in house No. 1/15. Previously, the Znamya cinema was located there.

Starting activities

The Illusion Cinema was the first non-profit institutionculture. In his work, he did not obey the official film censorship existing at that time, being at the same time under the strict control of the party bodies of the capital.

From the very first days, the Illusion cinema was popular with various categories of viewers. The opinion began to be expressed in the press that this institution was a kind of breath of freedom against the backdrop of existing stagnation in society, characterized by increased censorship and the introduction of all kinds of prohibitions.

At the beginning of its activity, the cinema "Illusion" experienced constant pressure exerted by the party and official authorities. This was due to the exclusivity of the institution and the demonstration of a special repertoire. The cinema used non-standard forms of propaganda. From time to time the question was raised of closing the Illusion altogether. However, the decision was never made. Public opinion played a big role in this. Such outstanding masters of Soviet cinema as Mikhail Zharov, Roman Karmen and Marina Ladynina also contributed to the continued operation of the cinema. Subsequently, they took over the "Illusion" a kind of patronage, helping the institution to avoid critical situations.

Cinema today

Over the years of its activity, "Illusion" has contributed to the education of several generations of viewers in the spirit of love for world classics and devotion to cinema. This activity continues today. Traditionally, various events are held in Illusion to popularize and promote the history of film culture. Apart fromwatching films, viewers can attend creative meetings and festivals, retrospective screenings and lectures. On any issues of cinematography, consultations of scientific staff are held.

Repertoire

The Illusion Cinema (Moscow) shows its audience the best films that are in the collection of the State Film Fund of the Russian Federation. They form the basis of his repertoire.

Equipment

In the cinema "Illusion" in 2004, reconstruction was carried out. After that, high-quality sound and lighting equipment appeared in it. New chairs have been installed that have stands for popcorn and drinks. The reconstruction retained as much as possible the attributes that were in the former Illusion. This is stucco on the wall and ceiling, an old chandelier, a piano, photographs and columns in the foyer. In the hall for one hundred and twenty seats, the mono sound remained, which was there in Soviet times.

The cinema, located in the famous skyscraper of the capital, compares favorably with other similar establishments with its unique repertoire, its special atmosphere and cozy cafe.

Network "Illusion"

In June 1999, the Cinema company began its work. In the Far East, she opened a network of cinemas "Illusion", each of which meets international standards. In the Primorsky Territory, the company has created seven such cultural institutions. The total number of cinema halls was fifteen units.

In the existing film distribution market of the Far East, the network of cinemas "Illusion" is in the lead. The principle underlying the work of the company is to maintain cultural institutions at a modern level. This allows cinemas to provide the maximum amount of entertainment services of the highest standard.

Illusion in Vladivostok

The first cinema of this famous network opened its doors to the audience in Primorye in 1999. It was with its appearance that the process of forming modern film distribution in the Far East began. Cinema "Illusion" (Vladivostok) is located in the building of the Theater of Youth. Its address is 103, 100 Let Vladivostok Ave. Within the walls of this cultural institution, viewers for the first time saw higher-quality films, which were shown using Illusion-Max technology.

For these purposes, in 2013, a hall was allocated in the cinema. Today, this cinema is a separate mini-complex. It has four auditoriums. The first of them is called "Illusion-Max". This is the largest hall with a capacity of 236 seats. It is interesting that the audience, having come to view at Illusion-Max, can take not only the usualarmchairs, but also sofas. In the center of the hall is the Beat Box zone. It contains twenty comfortable comfortable chairs.

The next three halls of the cinema are designed for one hundred twenty-one, eighty-eight and ninety-four seats for spectators. These rooms also have various areas and equipment for showing films in a variety of formats. High-quality screen canvases installed in the auditoriums have an increased image brightness factor.
