Singer and songwriter Sergei Mazaev is a very prominent personality in Russia. He is not only a musician and soloist of the Moral Code group, but also an actor with more than twenty projects to his credit, as well as the head of the production and recording company Mazai Communications. Childhood and youth of the artist

Sergey Mazaev is a native Muscovite, born on 12/7/1959. From childhood, the boy was fond of music, and at the age of six he received an invitation to take part in screen tests for the filming of the film, but did not receive the role. He studied at the Physics and Mathematics School, but gravitated more towards creativity and from the age of eleven he began to study vocals and play the saxophone and clarinet. Later he graduated from the music school in the clarinet class, then continued his studies at the Gnesinka.

After graduating from college, the future artist went into the army, served in a musical company. He took part in three Victory Parades with the orchestra of the Moscow garrisonon the Red Square. In 1989, the artist became the soloist of a rock band assembled by composer and poet Pavel Zhagun. The Moral Code group was conceived by him as a project releasing both witty and philosophical rock compositions. In addition to Sergey Mazaev, the band included guitarists Alexander Solich and Nikolai Devlet-Kildeev.

In 1990 keyboardist Konstantin Smirnov joined the group. And in the same year, the first video of the "Moral Code" for the song "I love you" was released. Then the second video “Goodbye, Mom!” appeared, and the guys won public recognition. Soon the release of the first album "Concussion" took place.

In subsequent years, the band toured Russia and European countries, recorded songs. The second disc called "Flexible Stan" was released in 1996, and the third "I choose you" - in 1997. In 1999 he diedsound engineer of the group, which caused a temporary decline. His next disc "Moral Code" was released already in 2001. Three more discs were released from 2007 to 2014.

In 2017, the group celebrated its 25th anniversary, in honor of which concerts took place in the Big Concert Hall Oktyabrsky and Crocus City Hall in March and April.

Film and solo projects

In 1993, Sergei Mazaev received a minor role in "Old songs about the main thing", and then took part in two sequels to the musical film. In 1997, he starred in The Newest Adventures of Pinocchio as the cat Basilio.

In 2002, the artist appeared on the screens in I. Dykhovichny's drama "Kopeyka", then there were shootings in the films "Open, Santa Claus!", "Inhabited Island", "Carnival Night-2", "Radio Day".

In 2013, Sergey Mazaev starred in Timati's GQ video, he also participated in the recording of the composition. The singer also collaborated with other musicians: he recorded tracks with Alexander Barykin and Brigade C, Natalya Vetlitskaya and Igor Butman. Adjacently developed jazz projects with Igor Matvienko and Yuri Tsaler.

Private life

Sergey Mazaev is married and has four children. The musician's wife, Galina, is eighteen years younger than him, works as a journalist and editor of GQ magazine. The eldest son Ilya graduated from Moscow State University from his first marriage and became a scientist. But in his free time, he also devotes himself to creativity, playsmusical group. In his second marriage, Sergei had two more children - daughter Anna, now she is 18 years old, and son Peter, he is 9 years old.
