Introduction
Today the puppet theater (Chelyabinsk) is one of the best in the country. He pleases the audience with excellent productions, wins creative victories at various competitions and festivals, and actively tours not only in Russia, but also abroad.

History
In the early 30s of the last century, the Garyanovs, actors of the drama theater, arrived in Chelyabinsk. They bought a charming old toy, Parsley, from a craftsman at the local market. It was this acquisition that gave rise to the idea to create a puppet theater in the city.
Pavel and Nina Garyanova set to work enthusiastically. The first performances were on the stage of the local drama theater. Only in 1935 did the authorities officially announce the creation of the Chelyabinsk State Puppet Theatre. It was placed in one of the rooms of the House of Artistic Education of Children: a small stage was built, chairs were placed for young spectators. And on October 2, 1935, the first performance was held here - "Kashtanka". This date is considered the birthday of the puppet theater in Chelyabinsk.
The years passed. Puppeteers perfected their art, the scene expanded, the first awards appeared. The performances "Silver Hoof", "Tiger Petrik", "Malchish-Kibalchish" became a legend. In the early 1970s The 20th century introduced innovations in the puppet theater (Chelyabinsk). For the first time, non-screen performances were played here, when the audience saw live puppeteers. Also on the stage were performances for adults ("Love and Three Oranges", "Gods in Love"). An unexpected expansion of the repertoirechildren's theater caused mixed reviews, and performances 16+ were suspended for a while.
In 1972, the Puppet Theater (Chelyabinsk) received a new building, where it is located today.
In 1977 director Valery Volkhovsky came to the Chelyabinsk children's theater. Here he worked for 10 years and staged many unforgettable performances, including "We play Cheburashka", "The Adventures of Dunno", "Buk", "Straw Lark", "Arturo Ui's Career", "The Little Prince", "Stork and Scarecrow" and even "Dead Souls" by N. Gogol.
After Volkhovsky, other talented directors came to the theater - Mikhail Khusid, Alexander Borok, Sergey Plotov, Vladimir Gusarov, Ludwig Ustinov, Valentina Shiryaeva. Together with like-minded professionals - actors, artists, musicians, technicians - they raised the stage to an unprecedented ethical and aesthetic height.

Ticket price ranges from 90 to 300 rubles and is set by the administration of the institution independently, depending on the date, time of the performance, its duration and technical complexity. Tickets are on sale for all visitors, regardless of age. A discount from 50 to 100% of the ticket price is provided to preferential categories of citizens:
- veterans and invalids of the Second World War;
- for large families;
- poor families;
- orphans.
