There is a puppet theater in the city of Cheboksary. Here dreams come true and miracles happen. The puppet theater is a place where young audiences are introduced to art.

About the theater

This team stands at the origins of all theatrical art in the city of Cheboksary. The Children's Puppet Theater opened its doors in 1943. Initially, it was mobile. He was based in the city of Yadrin, and in 1944 he was transferred to Cheboksary. The troupe was created from Leningrad actors evacuated from the besieged city. The head of the theater was S. M. Merzlyakov. Thanks to him, the troupe was replenished with young talents, which became the pride of the city of Cheboksary. Puppet theater in 1945 received the status of the state. At the same time, dolls were made for the first performance, which was called "Three Girlfriends".

In its work, the theater turns to works of world literature for children, to plays by Chuvash playwrights and to contemporary authors.

Thanks to the professionalism of the actors, the troupe works at a high level. The theater is recognized not only in Chuvashia, it is known and loved far beyond the borders of the republic. Actors actively participatein various festivals and demonstrates his skill and originality, arousing interest in the culture of Chuvashia among residents of other regions.

Cheboksary puppeteers created and implemented twelve projects. The most notable of them are "A fairy tale has come to your house", "Treatment by art", "We don't have to be the same" and "Puppet therapy". They are for special children (handicapped).

There are 20 artists in the troupe today. Eleven of them were awarded the honorary titles of "People's" and "Honored" artist. Talented youth and experienced luminaries work here.

The troupe's repertoire includes performances for both young and adult residents and guests of the city of Cheboksary. The puppet theater offers performances based on fairy tales, works of classics and playwrights of our time.
