The work of the Weiner brothers "The Cure for Fear" was especially popular. Therefore, it was filmed twice: in 1978 (this will be discussed later) and in 1989 (it was a mini-series called "Entrance to the Labyrinth"). So what kind of medicine against fear was poured into Captain Pozdnyakov? What is included in its composition? Who invented it? We'll figure it out.
Storyline. Poisoning and kidnapping
The film takes place in the late seventies of the twentieth century. The district police officer - Captain Pozdnyakov - was poisoned by unknown criminals. They took away his service weapon and official ID.
The head of the department, General Sharapov, initiated an official check against the captain. And this check should be carried out by the inspector of the criminal investigation department, captain Tikhonov.
According to the results of a medical check, Pozdnyakov was poisoned with a substance unknown to science. To understand which one is againstBecause of fear, the medicine (that same unknown substance) was used, Tikhonov had to turn to Professor Panafidin, who is a leading specialist in the field of medications. The conclusion of the medical experts turned out to be a shock for Panfindin: he realized that the unknown substance that was used on Captain Pozdnyakov was the drug that Panfindin himself was working on. It was a very strong tranquilizer called Metaproptisol.
What is this medicine?
This very "Metaproptizol", or in a simple way - a medicine against fear - was supposed to make a real revolution in the field of medicine. And since the professor, together with his institute, was engaged in the development of this problem, Panafidin doubts that at least someone else, except for himself and his employees, will be able to synthesize this substance in artisanal, so to speak, home conditions, without resorting to special equipment. In addition, neither he nor any of his team (the professor is sure of this) can "leak" information about what it is - a medicine against fear. The actors and their roles in this film perfectly characterize each hero - both positive and negative.
And the cast was chosen as well as possible. Alexander Fatyushin was invited to the role of Captain Stanislav Tikhonov (he was voiced in the film by Alexei Zolotnitsky); for the role of Captain Pozdnyakov - Vladimir Sedov; Professor Panafidin - Vyacheslav Shalevich; Vladimir Lyzhin - Sergey Desnitsky. Other roles starred Olga Naumenko, GeorgyZhzhenov, Alexander Vokach, Zinaida Kiriyenko and others…
Storyline. Cunning plan
So, returning to the fact that the medicine against fear was still invented, the investigator needs to figure out what's what. Tikhonov absolutely trusts the results of the examination. Now he needs to find the genius who created this strange cure for fear, which was previously considered completely impossible. After all, the only way he can find the criminal.
Now you can think about something else. A group of criminals has developed a rather cunning plan that can bring them significant profits. This idea has been mulled over for a very long time. Options for enrichment were developed, forged documents were used. The risk was necessary, and justified. Failure was not allowed, because the result could be imprisonment.
Their hope was in the latest drugs being developed in medicine, not yet fully understood and tested. But for the bandits it was only at hand. Because of his absent-mindedness, the honest police captain Pozdnyakov fell for the bait of criminals. He drinks one of these drugs and loses consciousness, after which the bandits steal his weapons and documents. A little later, they begin to use Pozdnyakov's service ID…
Electoral theft
Pretty soon, Pozdnyakov's documents and his weapons are found. As it became known to the police officers, so far unknown criminals came to different people, posing as law enforcement officers, with searches and confiscatedmoney and jewelry. But Captain Tikhonov realized that the criminals were not “cleansing” ordinary, ordinary Soviet people, but family members of representatives of the Fisherman Sportsman collective, who were convicted of embezzlement of state property.
That's how this story turned out. And a few years after the release of this picture, a five-episode series called "Entrance to the Labyrinth" was filmed. And this version of the work of the Weiners was very popular among the inhabitants of the Land of the Soviets.
In 2013, another series with the same name was filmed - "The Cure Against Fear". All his series (and there were 16 of them) told about the talented surgeon Andrei Kovalev. But that's another story.
And until now, all versions of the film adaptation of the novel are watched by a huge number of viewers. That must be saying something, isn't it?
