Circus story

Then the owner of the itinerant troupe, Emanuel Beranek, having become elderly, offered the well-known artists in Russia - the Nikitin brothers, to become his companions. In 1931, a new building was built for the circus, a hostel for artists and rooms for animals.

Circus Princess

The circus in Saratov is the organizer of its own competition. It has been held annually since 1998. Circus performers from different cities take part in it.

This year the competition has reached the international level. Artists of various genres from Ethiopia, the USA, Australia, China, Colombia came to take part in it,Italy and other countries. The name of the contest is "Princess of the Circus".

In 2016 it was held from 21 to 24 April. Both experienced arena masters and debutantes take part in it. The criteria for evaluating the artists are: the quality of the performance of the trick, the complexity of the performance, the artistry of the performer and the originality of the performance. In 2016, the jury members were: Gia Eradze (deputy general director of the Russian State Circus), Nikolai Kobzov, Fabio Montico (president of the Chita di Latina festival) and Philippe Agoge (casting director of the legendary circus Du Soleil.
