“You will find the lost paradise!”… For fans of rock music, this song became a cult one in its time. The song is almost fifteen years old, but it is still recognizable from the first chords. The words to the rock ballad were written by M. Pushkina, and the guitarist S. Terentyev became the author of the music. And every time you listen to the composition, you can hear new intonations and discover a new meaning.
He was dizzy with Deep Purple
Like millions of Soviet boys of that time, Sergey Terentyev's passion for music came to him in his teens. Picking up the guitar for the first time, he made it his constant companion for many years. At the very beginning of his career, Sergei seriously studied and copied Western music. Later they saw the light of their own songs, arrangements and musical projects.
Sergei Terentiev. Biography
The musician comes from the small town of Gavrilov Posad. Terentiev Sergey Vladimirovich was born on 1964-12-10. The Terentiev family had to change their place of residence quite often due to the professional activities of Father Sergei. Connecting his future life with music was not at all part of Sergey's plans at that time. In those years, Sergei Terentyev drew a lot, studied at the artschool. “I fancied myself an artist and despised musicians,” he would later say of that period of his life. After graduating from school, Terentiev enters the Zagorsk School for a rare profession as a woodcarver. But it is here, in the atmosphere of the school, far from music, that Sergey realizes that he wants to play the guitar. Sergei Terentiev begins to master the instrument at the age of fifteen, rather late for a future musician. So far, the hobby is limited to playing in amateur groups, various clubs and dance floors. Like most guitarists of that time, he did not escape the passion for Western music, and the songs of the Time Machine formed the basis of the repertoire.
In 1985, Sergei Terentiev entered the conductor-choir department at the VKPU. From this moment the creative life of the musician begins.
Life before Aria
The professional life of the musician Terentyev begins on stage as part of the Slides group. It is with this group that Sergei first tries his hand as a composer. The next milestone in the musician's creative career is the Rodmir group, and then the New Testament. The latter played Christian rock, and guitarist Sergei Terentyev is taking part in the recording of the band's latest album. The "New Testament" fell apart, and the musician, full of creative plans, remained unemployed.
During this period, Terentiev meets S. Zadora, who offers him to record a solo album. The proposal at first glance is not very real, but later implemented. This is how Sergey Terentiev's solo album Up to 30 saw the light of day.during the recording of the album, the musician approaches the staff of the recording studio Aria Records, and later becomes a full-time employee of the studio.
As part of the cult "Aria"
There would be no happiness, but misfortune helped. This can be said about how Sergey Terentyev got into the composition of the most eminent rock group Aria at that time. After the departure of S. Mavrin, Sergei's candidacy was considered as the most promising, and the musician did not disappoint either the "Aryans" or the admirers of the group. The eight years that Terentiev collaborated with Aria became productive for both the group and the musician. During this period, three albums were recorded, six songs were released, the author of the music for which was Sergey Terentyev.
Artery
The year 2002 has arrived. Sergey, together with Alexander Manyakin and Valery Kipelov, leave Aria and create a new Kipelov group, but a year later Terentyev leaves this team as well. In collaboration with A. Bulgakov, he creates a new project "Artery". This period of creative life cannot be called cloudless. The composition of the group often changes, the turnover does not have the best effect on the productivity of the team. Over the entire period, 7 vocalists and 11 musicians left the group for various reasons.
In 1994 Sergey Terentyev re-released his solo album in a new edition called "30+3+Infinity". Along with old instrumental compositions, it also includes hits, the author of the music for which was the guitarist: "Paradise Lost", "Who are you?"
And there are spots in the sun
In July 2007, Sergei Terentiev and "Arteria" were supposed to perform at the presentation of the new album of the group "Pilgrim", but the guitarist never appeared on stage. On July 19, 2007, the court sentenced the musician to five years in prison. The reason for this was a traffic accident that happened in July of the same year. Sergey Terentyev knocked down to death in his car a 19-year-old girl who suddenly appeared on the road. Sergei, to his credit, did not flee the scene, stopped and tried to provide first aid to the victim. Unfortunately, the girl's injuries were incompatible with life, and the ambulance doctors who arrived could not help.
The Savelovsky Court of Moscow sentenced the guitarist to 5 years in prison without the right to manage and payment of 1 million 900 thousand rubles to the family of the deceased girl. During the court session, S. Terentyev sincerely asked for forgiveness from the parents who lost their daughter, and repeatedly repeated that at the time of the accident he did not violate traffic rules. The musician was arrested right in the courtroom. Later, by decision of the Moscow City Court, the sentence was reduced to four years. While serving his sentence in a colony-settlement, the musician took part in the studio recordings of the Arteria group, acted as its producer.
Private life
In 1996, while working at Aria Records, Sergei met Natalia Glossy Lyanova. On this day, the girl came to voice the children's educational program. The second time fate brought them together in the same studio in 2000, and this meeting became fateful. Young people got married in February 2008.
Sergey and Natalya are bound not only by marriage, but also by creativity. GlossyTeria is a new project created by musician Sergey Terentiev. Photos of the musician and his wife destroy the stereotypical image of rock musicians. Natalya graduated from the State Musical Variety and Jazz School in the class of pop singing. There she attended courses in the speci alty "sound engineer". Today she is the author of lyrics and music, vocalist and backing vocalist of the group.
